This year marks 42 years since The Peninsula Manila hosted its first wedding reception. To celebrate this milestone event, the hotel is partnering with industry leader Rita Neri Event Planners, in addition to other leaders of the Philippine wedding industry, for a special event dubbed “Weddings at The Peninsula 2018,” June 9, 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

The day-long event will culminate with a bridal fashion show in the evening featuring the creations of veteran designers Joji Lloren and Joey Samson as well as young designers Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva and Mak Tumang.

"Weddings at The Peninsula" will feature two of the country's leading events planners.
Everything should be perfect during your wedding day, down to the styling and floral arrangements. To help you achieve this, “Weddings at The Peninsula” will feature two of the country’s leading events planners.

Planning a wedding is incredibly exciting, but it can also feel like a mammoth task at times. The Peninsula Manila and Rita Neri Event Planners aim to remove some of the perceived challenges faced by couples by inviting them to meet with a number of leading professionals from the wedding industry in one location. Those attending the event will have the chance to check a range of wedding essentials, each one chosen for their signature Peninsula style and savoir faire—from tabletop decorations, wedding cakes and flowers, to bridal gowns, limousines, helicopters and honeymoon destinations.

The love affair begins at The Lobby, where the grand staircase will be lined with garlands of flowers. Collaborating with two renowned floral artists—Teddy Manuel and Zenas Pineda—The Peninsula Manila creative director, Anna Fay Rosal, promises that their floral installations, with hundreds upon hundreds of blooms, will be a sight to behold.

The Upper Lobby will be transformed into a luxurious, pop-up space offering a glittering showcase of stunning jewelry from Jewelmer, Bvlgari, Charriol and Denovo Diamonds; honeymoon destinations from nine Peninsula hotels and Amanpulo; works of art from Salcedo Auctions; holistic vacations at The Farm in San Benito; a capsule collection from Rosa Clara; and lifestyle selections from Pottery Barn/West Elm.

The Conservatory will feature a selected gathering of the country’s most exclusive wedding suppliers, whose vetted services and seasoned advice are an invaluable resource when planning one of the most important moments in a couple’s life.

To close the event in style, The Lobby will showcase a fashion parade of stunning bridal wear by acclaimed Filipino designers Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva, Jesus “Jojie” Lloren, Joey Samson and Mak Tumang in the evening. The show will combine the passion of designers, the intimacy of a boutique and the beauty of bridal fashion against the backdrop of The Lobby’s iconic Sunburst sculpture by National Artist Napoleon Abueva.

“The ‘Weddings at The Peninsula’ brand is known to be one of the most beautiful bridal fairs in the Philippines” says Mark J. Choon, general manager of The Peninsula Manila. “Our partnership with Ms. Rita Neri, who is celebrating her 25th year in the industry, promises to further elevate an already spectacular event.

“We are proud of the reputation we have built for more than four decades now as an exceptional wedding venue. I think this stems from the fact that we approach every wedding celebration as an adventure, so whether it’s a traditional ceremony or a themed extravaganza, we make a couple’s wedding day an unforgettable moment in their life.”

Mark also says that “Weddings at The Peninsula 2018” will be different from other wedding fairs because the experience will feature talks on art as investment by Richie Lerma of Salcedo Auctions and home furnishings by Pottery Barn. Jewelmer will explain the timeless allure of the Philippine Golden South Sea Pearl.

“While it’s true that weddings take place every day, we believe yours should feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There is no such thing as too perfect—not when you are planning what is most likely the most memorable day of your life,” says Mr. Choon. “You promise to love and to cherish. We at The Peninsula promise to make your wedding day unforgettable.”

“Weddings at The Peninsula 2018” is supported by Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Lexus, Mastercard, Jewelmer, Bvlgari, airtaxi.ph (Asian Aerospace), Denovo Diamonds, Charriol, Pottery Barn/West Elm and Salcedo Auctions.
