What’s your favorite meal? Ours is Sunday brunch.

The South is home to a lot of awesome things — outlet shopping, skateparks, long stretches of highway that tempt the joyrider in all of us, bigger open spaces for bigger views of the sky and that signature vibe of easygoing, effortless cool.

There’s a dizzying array of spots to visit, but there’s one in particular where you go when all you want is to spend the day with your favorite people in the world, talking and laughing about stories you’ve told a thousand and one times.

There’s this little place called Café Eight that transforms everything we love about the South into a delicious buffet menu. Come over for Sunday brunch when they bring out the best of the best treats and you’ll be wishing for time to stand still.

Begin with curated cold cuts (tasty Serrano ham from Spain, Saucisson sausages from France, Salami from Italy) salads and imported cheeses to go with them. We all know how great sweet and savory tastes go together, so partner off appetizers with bottomless fresh fruit juices and nutrient packed vegetable shakes (or for the more daring, local beers, house wine and mimosas).

Now let’s move closer to the main event with Salmon and Tuna Sushi, a make your own pasta station, steaming hot dim sum, Chinese noodles and — wait for it — melt- in-your-mouth US Wagyu Beef Rump Steak.

The menu has over 50 items, so start slow and steady; the day is all yours.

There’s a little extra something for the kids too; face painting, balloon twisting, kid-friendly film showings and a small playground are great for them. (But you can always tempt them with mini beef hamburgers, mac & cheese and homemade chicken nuggets).

So what do you say? Sunday family brunch in the South with the whole clan? Don’t forget grandma.

We’ll see you there.

Café Eight is located in Crimson Hotel, Filinvest City and starts at P1,600 nett per person. For more information and reservations, please call (02) 863 2222 local 2272.
