Shop Global, Help Local: The International Bazaar

If you haven’t finished (or started) Christmas shopping, don’t fret. The International Bazaar is coming your way, and it’s your one stop shop for quality and unique finds from the Philippines and all over the world.

This year, the much-awaited bazaar centers around the theme of “Shop Global, Help Local.”

The International Bazaar is headed by the International Bazaar Foundation Inc., (IBF), Ladies of thhe Department of Foreign Affairs, Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM) and members of the diplomatic and consular corps. A total of 36 embassies are expected to participate this year, also making the bazaar a platform for cultural exchange.

Shoppers can and should expect a dizzying array of goods at this bazaar as well as a chance to “travel the world,” so to speak, by sampling culinary delights from participating countries.

A bazaar isn’t complete without a raffle, so shoppers must make sure to enter their names to get a chance to win a  Hyundai Eon car courtesy Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc., or a airline tickets, kitchen appliances, hotel weekend packages and other prizes when shoppers purchase a donor card at P200.

As the bazaar celebrates its 50th run this year, the bazaar remains to be the most diverse holiday fair of the country, and stays committed to its promise of helping the country’s disadvantaged groups.

This year, proceeds will be forwarded to groups helping deserving students from indigent families, the elderly, abused and abandoned children, victims of calamities and will strongly focus on  partnering with an organization that will provide a community-based drug recovery program.

The International Bazaar is scheduled on Nov. 27, 2016. and will be at the Harbor Garden Tent, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila,  CCP Complex, Pasay City from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Entrance tickets are available at P100 and are available in Tesoro’s outlets at Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City and Mabini St., Ermita Manila and on the 6/F Special Projects Unit, 2330 Department of Foreign Affairs Building, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
