Exquisita Comida Española: A Spanish food festival

Qué rico! This tastes delicious!

Guests of Diamond Hotel Philippines are sure to exclaim this when they dine at the hotel’s premier dining destination, Corniche, this month.

The reason behind the enthusiastic exclamation? The hotel is out to introduce their newest Spanish executive chef Francisco Coque through his delectable creations in a week-long Spanish food festival that is sure to tickle your tastebuds. Foodies will be excited to know that they’ll be sampling the work of a chef who’s worked in four of which are Michelin-starred restaurants (among many others) as well top-rated hotels in Spain, London and the US. Manila, an emerging food capital, is his next stop.

Available during lunch and dinner buffets, the featured Spanish delicacies will be filling your plates beginning with appetizers all the way down to dessert.

Start with a sampler plate of an all-Spanish assortment of cold cuts and cheeses like Jamon Iberico and Queso Manchego but don’t get too full!

More flavors await in tapas and mains like the Paella Negra served with Aioli, a unique mix of fresh seafood and carefully selected spices and other ingredients and the famous Gambas Al Ajillo, which is a generous serving of succulent prawns sautéed in garlic, imported olive oil and chili flakes for a subtle kick of spice.

(Authentic Spanish flavors waiting for you this April)

Before you’ve had your fill, leave space for the crowd-drawing Cochinillo at the carving station and get a taste of Tortilla Española, a Spanish omelette mixed with potato, onion. Don’t forget to grab some delectably crisp Asparagus Blanca de Navarra and deliciously soft Croquetas de Jamon, too!

Now, for the sweet tooth, head over to the dessert station for some Churros con Chocolate, another specialty to be prepared by the executive chef during the celebration. Delicioso!

Diamond Hotel Philippines’ Spanish food festival will run until April 9, 2017. As a special treat, Spanish nationals and Spanish embassy employees are entitled to a 30 percent discount for lunch and dinner buffets.
