Too Much is Not Enough: Manila FAME returns on April 21

The country’s premium home, fashion and lifestyle event, Manila FAME, is slated to return to the World Trade Center in Metro Manila with the first half of its 65th edition on April 21-23, 2017.

This year’s edition will showcase over 300 micro, small and medium enterprises and their home, fashion, architecture and design products, as well as eight show scenographies that highlight iconic indigenous materials and innovative design techniques.

“We want to put into light the ingenuity and versatility of our artisans as they create and innovate products with the country’s native materials, while also promoting its traditional applications,” explains Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions executive director Clayton Tugonon.

Among the eight scenographies is Materia: Bamboo and Materia: Coconut, which aim to highlight products and decoration pieces made from the various bamboo and coconut materials, MindanaOne Fashion, which trains the spotlight on the beauty of Southern Filipino textiles, and Christmas “Pabitin” Redux, which embodies Philippine festivities by incorporating elements from Filipino Christmas and town fiestas.

Also included in the line-up is a showcase of products from female craftspeople and entrepreneurs under the Gender Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women (GREAT Women) initiative.
