There’s a new soap in town

Millennials and Gen-Z alike sing and dance to Blackpink’s “boom-baya,” while Korean-style Internet cafés spring like mushrooms offering seamless Wi-Fi with kimchi “bap” alongside chic artisanal coffee. If there’s anything this wave has created – it’s a horde of Filipinos craving for quality yet affordable skincare products. Inspired by their idols’ perfectly “chok-chok” porcelain skin, Filipinos have now come to love what used to be distinctly foreign.

But perhaps – we don’t need to look far to embrace what is truly ours.

OMO! White – which means “Oh My Goodness” in Hangeul slang is a locally bred Korean-inspired brand. Inspired by her trip from Korea, Founder RCT5 came home with a vision – to apply the innovation and latest know-how of Korean skincare and make them work for the average Filipino beauty junkie. It doesn’t hurt that they come in cute little packaging.

“Who wants boring skincare anyways,” Erica Iris, the company’s head of operations, quips.

The brand aims to be its customer’s K-pop bestie knowing fully well that “one-size-fits-all” means “this-size-doesn’t-quite-fit-anyone.” With this philosophy as one of its core pillars, OMO! White is outed as the first local brand that offers customized face and body whitening bars and beauty toners for its customer’s specific skin type.

Because whether it’s OMO’s WonderClear for the adolescent acne-prone and oily skin type or the HyperCleanse Toner with activated charcoal for the oppa with an active lifestyle – OMO! White is a brand for him and her that offers something perfectly and YOU-niquely yours. 79096601_570671470415749_442683456019759104_n

White but better

Adding to the craze of its customization is the fast efficacy of their products’ brightening effects. Using white only as the aesthetic color reference to a gradual change of becoming lighter and brighter based on the individual complexion’s best version of itself.

“We offer customized whitening products, but not like the bleach-type of white. Mas maganda ang approach ni OMO. It’s more on glowing bright. So I guess it’s also white, but better,” says marketing officer Celeste Co.

And yet OMO! is a brand that goes beyond just creating great products (if we go by the raving reviews of prominent vloggers like Benedict Cua https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkLcEmVduko and Shek Chen  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3DI4CmzgRI&t=34s ). It creates products that really work.79094989_2409392696043058_4434381234348490752_n
