I Do and I Don’t: The best and worst outfits at the Royal Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding was a nuptial extravaganza. The guests — a mix of celebrities, royalty and friends of the bride and groom — all had to don their most elegant outfits before entering St. George’s Chapel.  Here’s our list of the guests who served royal looks, and of those who didn’t.

I Do: The best dressed

Victoria Beckham

Victoria, with husband David Beckham, goes Goth chic in her own midnight blue design with deconstructed sleeves.

Gina Torres

Model-tall Gina Torres, one of Meghan’s former co-stars in the TV series Suits, turns heads in a Christos Costarellos dress.

Kitty Spencer

Kitty Spencer, cousin of the groom, blooms in a hunter green A-line dress with printed details and portrait neckline by Dolce & Gabbana. She gets bonus points for that pretty pillbox hat.

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle — now the Duchess of Sussex — channels her inner Bond girl in a Stella McCartney dress with a classic halter neckline.

I Don’t: The worst dressed

Amal Clooney

Wearing a dress by Stella McCartney, Amal Clooney, with husband George Clooney, could have opted instead for a fuller skirt while chucking off those distracting coattail-like details.

Princess Beatrice of York

Compared to what she wore during William and Kate’s wedding in 2011, Princess Beatrice of York’s deep turquoise Roksanda dress is a definite improvement. Still, it looks too heavy and busy for a morning event. Perhaps she’ll finally get it right during sister Eugenie’s forthcoming wedding.

Charlotte Riley

Did Charlotte Riley just come from a rowdy kids’ painting class? Her printed The Vampire Wife’s dress seems like it was deliberately speckled with paint. One saving grace is her pretty Philip Treacy hat with floral details.

Pippa Middleton

In her desire perhaps not too overshadow the bride, Pippa Middleton tries to blend in with spring in this off-the-rack tiffany blue printed dress by The Fold. But online bashers have other ideas, as they liken the color scheme of her “Hepburn” dress to the Arizona Green Tea can.

Joss Stone

Joss Stone, third from left, looks like an overgrown kindergarten in this sleeveless and printed A-line “Nova” dress by Hobbs.

Chloe Madeley

Except for the color, Chloe Madeley’s pleated and low-cut R-rated “Daria” dress by RTW brand Reiss is more for evening.

Camila Parker-Bowles

Wearing an Anna Valentine coat dress, Camila Parker-Bowles’ feathered hairstyle is uncannily reminiscent of Princess Diana’s lush mane during her earlier years. And that Philip Treacy hat seems to echo the look of that appropriated hairdo.
