It’s time to meet the new center of aviation! Turkish Airlines’ new home, Istanbul Airport, is looking to change travelers’ experience with an airport equipped with advanced technologies and a huge, extraordinary capacity in handling passengers.

Commencing its operations October of last year, Istanbul Airport stands out with an extraordinary overall capacity of 200 million people when all phases are complete, 90 million of those being in the first phase. The new airport also provides flights to more than 350 destinations. According to Turkish Airlines, the new airport promises maximum comfort and minimum waiting period to all its visitors.

Passenger information kiosks, help robots, self check-in and baggage drop-off points will ensure that everything runs smoothly during your trip, from pre-boarding to landing. Additionally, biometric access doors, flight information screens and automatic boarding gates are available for a much more comfortable and hassle-free flight experience. Passengers will also be able to check the delivery time of their baggage on screens to minimize the waiting period.

The Atatürk Airport will be closed to scheduled flights as of April 6, 2 a.m. In its place, Istanbul Airport will commence its operations for all scheduled flights on the same day. Turkish Airlines is currently operating in routes from Istanbul Airport to Ankara, Antalya, Izmir, Trabzon, Adana, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Kayseri, Hatay, Turkish Cyprus (Ercan), Baku, Moscow, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Kuwait, Tbilisi and Ashgabat airports with additional flights.

Turkish Airlines’ flights from Ataturk Airport to these destinations, apart from the ones with the additional flights, will continue to be carried out in accordance with the existing tariffs again from Istanbul Ataturk Airport until the finalization of the relocation operation on April 6.
