Cooks, chefs and overall food lovers will disagree over many things.
Sweet or savory? Hot or cold? Is cooking a science, or an art? The list of points of opposition is longer than you might think, but there is one point of convergence among all of them: the recipes, the measurements, the finest ingredients comprise only a teaspoon of cooking. The one thing that can never be substituted is the passion that goes into every step of the process, and the arrival of Gérard Dubois’ new French café Passion delivers nothing less than that.
The first Passion branch opened in Hong Kong in 2012. Passion, a franchise of La Boulangerie of Passion, Inc., is all about the traditional French café experience. Gerard’s desire to bring the best of France to the rest of the world through dainty pastries, hearty stews, house-made breads, and aromatic afternoon drinks among others in a space reminiscent of a quaint countryside cottage is the story behind Passion.
Diners can expect to be overwhelmed by meal and snack choices perfect for any time of the day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and anything in between, Passion is prepared to satiate your every craving (or, better yet, make you want more). As if sourdough pizzas, old-fashioned casseroles, cakes of all sizes, flavors and textures and crisp salads weren’t enough, Passion promises to introduce a new item to every month.
The café itself is homey and charming, inviting guests to take their time as they sip their choice of coffee, tea, chocolate, wine or beer and enjoy dishes tastefully paired with it. Who wants to hurry out of a place that surrounds them with the smell of freshly-baked goods?
Although Passion is certainly not a dine and dash experience, the café does give their diners the choice to have anything on the menu to go.
Conveniently located around commercial and work spaces, Passion will surely become the new center of satisfying conversations and extended stays. Passion is located in the Network Building on 5th Avenue, BGC, Taguig.
