Celebrate Chinese New Year with courage and a ‘King’

Now, who wouldn’t need a little bit of liquid courage after that rat of a year?

In 1263, Colin of Kintail of Clan McKenzie courageously stepped in to save King Alexander III of Scotland from being attacked by a raging stag during a hunting trip. Such legendary showcase of heroism and bravery inspired quite a few tales — and even an iconic drink!

On the nose, it reveals an aroma of red berry fruits and hints of passion fruit. The liquid imparts hints of citrus zest, vanilla pod, crème caramel, and crushed almonds, before finishing off with the rich, enticing aftertaste of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Such a strong and rich flavor profile comes as a perfect complement to a variety of Cantonese dishes, from pork to beef, or even seafood.

Initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, The Dalmore King Alexander III is apportioned between small batch ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry casks, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, Port Pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. These are then brought in an in-situ sherry butt. It  also received a Gold Award at the 2020 International Spirits Challenge.

With these said, it’s time to say ‘salut!’ as you tread a brave, New Year ahead!
