The Korean star of the hit TV series True Beauty regaled Filipino fans in a recent meet-and-greet event at the Araneta City. The BYS endorser also reminisced about his life as a former student in the Philippines, including his fondness for certain street food such as mango float and kwek-kwek.
And the anything-Korean fever among Filipinos has yet to subside! As a treat to fans of Korean actor Hwang In Youp, BYS Philippines brought the hallyu star to Manila to spend a fun evening with them. It was also a reunion of sorts between Hwang In Youp and Filipinos, as the rising star once spent time here years ago as a student. The New Frontier Theater, venue of the meet-and-greet event, was filled with a thrilled fans recently, as the BYS endorser answered questions and played games on stage.
At the press conference earlier that day, Hwang In Youp revealed his skincare routine: making sure to use the complete line of Skin by BYS to get the full glowing effect, as well as splashing his face with cold water at the end of his shower.
He also narrated some of his favorite memories of the Philippines, back when he was still studying here years ago, which included eating mango float and buying kwek-kwek (deep-fried battered quail eggs) from street vendors.
At the BYS Fun Meet in Manila, Hwang In Youp met his Filipino fans for the first time for almost two hours of interaction. The fans were ecstatic as their favorite oppa appeared on stage, greeting them with a charming smile and waving to all the guests.
Hwang In Youp gamely played several sets of games with the audience, which gave everyone a wonderful time. His throng of admirers felt even more tickled when he sang It Starts Today, the original soundtrack of his hit series True Beauty. He also handed out signed posters to 100 lucky ticket holders.
Last September, BYS Philippines signed on Hwang In Youp as its endorser and headlined the #UncoverTrueBeauty campaign that coincided with the launch of the Skin by BYS Minis.
Hwang In Youp’s BYS fun meet In Manila felt like a homecoming, as it was his first time back in the Philippines since school in Davao—and both he and his fans were truly delighted.
