The -ber months are here! And every Filipino knows its significance. With Christmas just around the corner, it’s high time for people to again rush to the malls to shop for holiday presents for friends, loved ones and even themselves! If you’re one of those who haven’t thought of what to give the special people in your life yet, you might want to consider giving them something classic and functional, but with a touch of luxury.
Just in time for the Christmas shopping season, Seiko recently opened its newest boutique at the Power Plant Mall in Makati. This is the Japanese brand’s ninth store in the Philippines.
Karl Dy, president of Timeplus Corp., together with vice president for marketing, Edric Dy, led in the store’s unveiling. Timeplus Corp. is Seiko’s official distributor in the country.
Located at the mall’s R1 floor, Seiko’s neat and sleek-looking boutique presents an extensive range of both Seiko and luxury Grand Seiko collections.
It houses the latest timepieces Seiko has to offer, including two new additions to its Grand Seiko Sport collection: the quartz GMT SBGN027 with its black Sunday dial with monochromatic highlights; and the SBGN029 with its distinct blue dial and red accents.
The Evolution 9 collection, which represents the future of Grand Seiko, is also available at the boutique. The collection draws inspiration from Japan’s traditions and culture, while keeping in step with the times with its confident lines, powerful presence and quiet radiance that speak to the next generation.
There’s also the Grand Seiko SLGH005, a Red Dot Design 2022 “Best of the Best” awardee, which, according to the jury made up of 48 design experts from 23 countries, skillfully encapsulates Grand Seiko’s philosophy and embodies the classic Japanese design.
Other notable timepieces worth checking out are the limited-edition Tokyo neon lights-inspired Astron 5X Caliber, and Prospex SSC813 and Prospex LX, which represent the true spirit of Seiko as the pioneer in sports timing.
Meanwhile, watch enthusiasts can look forward to the pre-order of the SLGH013 under the Grand Seiko Heritage collection, which pays homage to the signature 44GS watch’s 55th anniversary. This time, it features a new light blue dial and bracelet made of “ever-brilliant steel,” which is said to be inspired by Mt. Iwate’s melting snows.
The Seiko boutique is located at Power Plant Mall’s R1 floor. Other Seiko branches nationwide are located at: 2F SM Aura, GF Glorietta 1, 5L SM Megamall Bldg. B, 2F SM North, 3L SM Seaside and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. To shop online, visit https://shop.seikoboutique.com.ph/.
