The terno again took centerstage, as its wearer, Philippine First Lady Liza Marcos, was cited by journalist Sophie Tobin in her article, which appeared two days ago on The Telegraph, as one of the 52 “best-dressed” guests who attended the recent coronation of King Charles III in London.
Wearing a design by Paul Cabral, which featured a Marian blue lining with an embroidered mesh overlay in ecru, pleated hem and dainty sash and bow, also in Marian blue, the first lady was accompanied by her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who also looked picture-perfect in an embroidered barong and stripped pants.
Ranked 46th among the 52 personalities on Tobin’s best-dressed list, Mrs. Marcos was in good company, as she shared the honor with members of royalty, including Catherine, the Princess of Wales, Queen Letizia of Spain, Queen Rania of Jordan, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Queen Suthida of Thailand, showbiz personalities such as singer Katy Perry and actress Dame Emma Thompson, and fellow first ladies and wives of prime ministers, including US First Lady Jill Biden, French First Lady Brigitte Macron, Akshata Murty, wife of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Sophie Trudeau, wife of Canadian prime minister Justine Trudeau.
