“Crossroads,” which groups together six Filipino artist at Conrad Manila’s Gallery C, promises to be a “mesmerizing” exhibition, “opening doors to a multitude of interpretations.”
For the 24th edition of Conrad Manila’s “Of Art and Wine,” the hotel trains the spotlight on six artists: Fitz Herrera, Binong Javier, Marlong Magbanua, Coeli Manese, Bea Policarpio and Resty Tica. Dubbed as “Crossroads,” the ongoing exhibit at the hotel’s Gallery C celebrates various styles and techniques in abstraction.
“Crossroads,” which also coincides with Conrad Manila’s seventh anniversary celebration, boasts a remarkable collection of artworks from these six celebrated artists. The exhibit features 23 masterpieces that invite guests and patrons to explore and appreciate the vast spectrum of artistic expression.
“As we celebrate our seventh anniversary this month, we aim to elevate overall guest experience not only through our brand of hospitality with a touch of luxury and sough-after culinary delights, but also through several meaningful activities that are true to our core,” said Fabio Berto, Conrad Manila’s general manager.
He added: “Staying committed to paying tribute to the geniuses in contemporary Philippine art, we are honored to showcase the works of talented artists who have poured their hearts and souls into producing a collection that is as mesmerizing while opening doors to a multitude of interpretations.”
Joining the six featured abstract artists during the recent launch were Elizabeth Sy, president, SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC); Peggy Angeles, executive vice president, SMHCC; Fabio Berto; and Cid Reyes, a celebrated Filipino artist and art critic.
Javier, one of the artists, shared: “We want to take art enthusiasts to an artistic journey that is unrestrained by objective interpretations. We want to feed their creative minds with the finest in contemporary arts. We also hope that through this, more people will embrace and appreciate abstract art form.”
