Guess what the former Miss Universe and fashionista Pia Wurtzbach wore in between shows at the recently concluded Paris Fashion Week. Clue: It’s definitely not heels!
Sporting her newly chopped locks in front of her hundreds of fans, Pia Wurtzbach stepped out in style at the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City as the first brand ambassador of Skechers in the Philippines. Aside from looking stylish in her chic sportswear, the gorgeous multi-hyphenate also revealed how the brand’s shoes were her secret weapons during the recent Paris Fashion Week.
“If you saw my reels from Fashion Week, you’d notice we’re always running from one show to the next, in airports, here and there. So, if I’m not wearing heels, I like to be comfortable so that I can perform and conserve my energy,” she said, while showing off a pair of Skechers’ Hands Free Slip-ins to the audience. The shoes, which can be worn and removed without the usual maneuvers — aka untying shoelaces, using one’s hands and bending over — also allows Pia to breeze through airport scan machines, and even relax her feet while traveling.
Investing in the Philippines
Pia’s crowning as a brand ambassador also means so much more for the brand and its presence in the Philippines. “Skechers has placed particular importance and investment in the Philippines, and as we continue to build our business in the market, we felt the time was right to have a Filipino that embodies both the country and the brand’s culture. We found just that with Pia Wurtzbach,” said Suzette Pasustento, country manager of Skechers Philippines.
She added that they chose Pia, not just for her strong fan base but also her impressive accomplishments. A finisher of the 2022 New York City Marathon and a regular at global fashion weeks, the brand says that she embodies the perfect blend of style and fitness.
