Wearing a bright pink and yellow ensemble, the “Queen of All Media” was spotted on the PeopleAsia red carpet, where she expressed her support and gratitude for “People of the Year” awardee Michael Leyva.
Kris Aquino surprised guests and fans alike in her first red carpet appearance after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition. The celebrity mother of two was spotted at PeopleAsia’s “People of the Year“ “2025 Awards Night at Fairmont Makati, where she personally congratulated her friend, fashion designer Michael Leyva.
Accompanied by her son Bimby, her doctor and three nurses, Aquino thought the timing was perfect since the PeopleAsia event was held on February 25, the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People’s Power Revolution. “I actually thought today is the 24th, tomorrow pa yung 25. He was the one who told me. Sabi niya [last night], ‘Ano ka ba, bukas yung…’ So, sabi ko, ‘Perfect!’ Talagang perfect coming out,” she said.

“He’s really like the younger brother I never had,” she told PeopleAsia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez. “And there are people who say that they’ll be there for you or maaasahan mo ako (you can count on me). But Michael has proven that so many times and in so many ways. And he gave his two cars to us!”
Despite feeling unwell, Kris gave her all-out support to Leyva, whom she also described as a father figure to her sons. The long walk to the grand ballroom eventually exhausted her yet she still welcomed questions from reporters while sitting down.
In December 2017, Kris herself was one of PeopleAsia’s “People of the Year” awardees and graced its December 2017-January 2018 cover.
