Sari Lazaro launches new pop-up store at Rockwell

Celebrated Filipino designer Sari Lazaro returns to Rockwell as she opens a pop-up store at Power Plant Mall this month.

Sari, who first had a pop-up at the same mall in 2024, recently launched her new ready-to-wear collection in time for the summer season, which takes inspiration from the vibrant spirit and joyful demeanor of the Filipino people.

“My collection reflects embracing life’s beauty and finding light even in the darkest moments, just as the Filipino people do every day. Through these pieces, I aim to share that infectious, playful energy,” Sari said about her latest designs.

Patrons can expect a selection of ready-to-wear pieces that seamlessly transition from day to night. Each garment embodies a summer-inspired vibe, offering both style and versatility for any occasion.

Sari’s new collection leans towards a more tropical design, with some pieces using Filipino-made woven textiles that have been present in her designs. She wishes to reach women who recognize the value of Filipino craftsmanship and support local brands.

Her designs, which gravitate towards classics with a twist, cater to patrons who are not afraid to inject some personality and fun into their wardrobe.

Sari Lazaro’s summer collection

Sari’s journey as a designer began after she graduated from Marangoni in Italy, when she opened her atelier upon returning to the Philippines.

She then launched her ready-to-wear label after discovering the beauty of Filipino-made textiles. She shares, “To me, these textiles represent not just art, but a way of life and a deep part of our culture — something we as Filipinos can be incredibly proud of.”

Sari got the opportunity to showcase these Filipino textiles on the global stage when she did a show in Doha and Paris. Now, she makes it a point to incorporate local weaves in every collection she launches.

The Sari Lazaro label hopes to address the young Filipina’s search for unique, high-quality pieces that proudly carry the handiwork of local artisans. Through her designs, women can exude confidence, authenticity, and an adventurous spirit that will allow them to live life with joy and curiosity.

Sari plans to have a permanent store in the future, with collections that incorporate more woven textiles — not only to preserve Filipino culture, but to promote it locally and globally.

The Sari Lazaro Label pop-up store is located at R2, Power Plant Mall, Makati City.
