Addicting, but fat-free holiday treats from FOX+

There’s no stopping Christmas, but that shouldn’t stop you either from watching your favorite stars and celebrities like Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Owen Wilson and Kelsey Merritt headline these new shows available “anytime, anywhere” on FOX+

Christmas is fast approaching and 2018 is steadily winding down. As everybody knows, it’s the busiest and the most stressful time of the year when people attend to a million different things all at once. It the midst of all these, FOX+ has launched new shows and movies this month, which you can view anytime of the day, wherever you are.

It’s no secret that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. Fans of this annual event come in all shapes, sizes and genders, from fashionistas and music lovers to supermodel admirers.

This year’s show will have Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipino woman to walk the runway. Alongside her are Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Cindy Bruna, Devon Windsor, Leomie Anderson and Shanina Shaik. This year’s musical guests are Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini, Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes and The Struts.

Escape at Dannemora is another must-watch limited TV series based on actual events. It’s a true story that made headlines in 2015 when a prison break in upstate New York prompted a massive manhunt for two convicted murderers who received helped in their escape by a female prison employee. The show stars Benicio Del Toro (last seen as the Collector in the Avengers Infinity War), Patricia Arquette (Medium) and Paul Dano (There Will be Blood).

National Geographic’s half-scripted, half-documentary drama MARS is back for its second season, which will take place five years from where Season 1 ended. It’s the year 2042. The Mars settlers will face a plague, natural disasters, and the birth of a new baby. These will all happen while they are terraforming the planet to support human life. The need for water will introduce a private, for-profit corporation who will join the Mars settlers and try to siphon the planet’s resources for its own gain.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure is the final installment of the dystopian Maze Runner trilogy, which finds the last of the free “Gladers” (those immune to the Flare virus that had ravaged the world’s population) Thomas, Newt and Frypan breaking into the legendary Last City to save their friends. There, they face the most complicated maze yet, and the answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking await them on the other side.

Wonder tells the inspiring story of August Pullman, a boy with facial defects who attends a public elementary school for the first time. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name. It stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Justin Tremblay.

What would happen when an ex-champion and serial hustler challenges one of the strongest female tennis players to a match? Battle of the Sexes is the movie based on that true-to-life match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973, one of the most-watched televised sports event of all time. While it’s easy to look up the results of the match, what’s worth watching are Steve Carell and Emma Stone’s critically acclaimed performances.

The Titan is a science-fiction thriller set in 2048, when Earth has become overpopulated and wracked with violence. Desperate to find a solution, scientists are looking to Saturn’s moon, Titan, as a possible new home for humanity. Sam Worthington stars as Rick Janssen, one of the humans subjected to an experiment to adapt to the surface conditions on Titan. Others in the cast are Tom Wilkinson as Professor Martin Collingwood, the project head, and Taylor Schilling as Rick’s wife, Dr. Abigail Janssen.

For basketball fans, there’s a new basketball league in the Philippines whose select games will be shown live on FOX+. Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is founded and launched by champion boxer and Sen. Manny Pacquiao last year. As a regional basketball, MPBL features both commercial and barangay level league teams to have a home locality as well as a corporate sponsor.
