Renowned Filipino jewelry designer, three-time Katha Award Winner and 2016’s Best Designer Award recipient at the New York Now Winter show, Ann Ong, continued to make her mark globally with her first runway show at the recent New York Fashion Week. Making this milestone even more special for her was having her son, fashion designer John Paras, collaborate with her on the show by creating the clothes that complemented Ann’s jewelry and accessories.
For her first runway show at NYFW, the self-taught jewelry designer featured her collections “Divas of Nature” and the Geometric line inspired by the Louvre Museum. Ann captured the imagination of fashionistas and delighted the fashion elite with her intricately gilded pieces that merged the organic with the opulent.
The impressive and intricately designed creations of Ann showcased her keen eye for details and proud Filipino roots by using humble materials such as banig, bamboo and even salvaged wood, juxtaposed with fine gold and precious stones.
From her ornate neck pieces and earrings, to her crafted rings and bracelets and standout minaudière, Ann continued to shine in her homeland as well as the international scene.
