Ayala Malls celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary with “Wish” premiere

Ayala Malls and Disney recently teamed up for the Philippine premiere of Wish at Glorietta Cinemas, where they delighted guests with exciting pre-show games and activities at the Glorietta Activity Center. The movie, which debuts worldwide on Nov. 22, marks the 100th anniversary of Disney Animation Studios.

Disney’s 100th anniversary special “Wish” debuts worldwide on Nov. 22

Wish tells the captivating tale of Asha, a quick-witted idealist, whose powerful wish is answered by the cosmic force, Star. Together, they embark on a magical—and at times perilous — adventure to conquer their most formidable foe, the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico.

The film showcases the best of Disney’s 2D animation — the kind that made the likes of Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin and more famous — and combines it deftly with groundbreaking 3D animation, which it popularized in the 21st century.  Clocking in at 1 hour and 35 minutes, Disney’s 100th year offering is a pretty straightforward affair that comes jampacked with Easter Eggs that pay tribute to some of the House of Mouse’s most iconic characters.

Wish upon a 20-ft Star at Glorietta

Ayala Malls added an extra layer of magic to the $200-million film by offering fun activities for lucky guests during the premiere. Aside from seeing the movie four days in advance, they were also treated to fun activities such as hair braiding, coloring corners for the kids, and face painting.

Artist Zephanie Dimaranan also performed “Aking Hiling,” the special Filipino rendition of the movie’s main soundtrack, live for the first time on the Glorietta stage. She is set to perform the song on the Wish 107.5 Bus on Nov. 25 and at her upcoming meet and greet at Ayala Malls Central Bloc.

Starting this Nov. 22, Wish will be shown in cinemas across the country. Families and friends who watch the film at Ayala Malls this Nov. 25 and 26, will also get to experience the same fun activities offered during the premiere. Plus, there’s a 20-ft installation of the movie’s lovable character, Star, at Glorietta in Makati. Ayala Malls Manila Bay and Ayala Center Cebu will also have its very own stars to “Wish” upon soon.

“At Ayala Malls, we strive to create exciting opportunities for families and friends to come together—whether it’s through shopping, dining, or catching a movie. We ensure that these experiences are not just ‘fun visits’ to the mall but memorable moments spent with loved ones,” says Chrissy Roa, group head of marketing and communications for Ayala Land Estates and Ayala Malls.

Tickets are now on sale at all Ayala Malls Cinemas, Zing app, or SureSeats.com.
