And the global accolades for Dolly de Leon continue.

The Filipino actress just earned her third Best Supporting Actress nomination for Triangle of Sadness, as the British Film Academy and Television Arts (BAFTA) officially released its list of nominees for 2023 Thursday afternoon (London time).

Dolly is nominated alongside such Hollywood as well as British film industry staples as Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Carey Mulligan (She Said), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Hang Chau (The Whale) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).

Dolly, shot by Jar Concengco for PeopleAsia, will appear in a feature story in the magazine’s Feb-March issue.

It was Bassett who thwarted what could have been Dolly’s biggest win a few weeks ago by running away with the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the Golden Globes.

But Dolly evened the score, as she got the nod of members of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association also for her performance as Abigail in Triangle of Sadness, a black comedy about the sudden shift in the power dynamics between affluent passengers and a lowly housekeeping manager (De Leon) after the luxury cruise yacht they were in gets marooned on a remote island.

Dolly, who is still in Los Angeles, issued this statement through her Filipino manager, Ferdy Lapuz: “I’m so grateful to the BAFTAs for recognizing my performance in Triangle of Sadness. I have been working in the Philippines for my whole career and it means so much to have my first English-language role honored in this way—and to be in the company of such incredible talent. I’m so proud to be the first Filipina ever nominated in this category! Very grateful to our UK distributor, Curzon, too.”

BAFTA, the British film and TV industry’s answer to the Oscars, will reveal this year’s set of winners, as it formally hands out its awards on February 20.
