“Bigger, faster, better.” Hyun Bin returns in Smart’s new commercial

Captain Ri – and the Smart execs – definitely know how to keep their promises.

As previously announced, Smart Communications has posted a second commercial featuring Korean heartthrob Hyun Bin. Released last June 20, the video has been viewed on the Smart Facebook page almost 400,000 times and has garnered 8,300 reactions and 540 shares, as of this writing.

The 30-second advertisement features the dashing Oppa going around town, as he watches K-dramas in his smartphone. Ironically, it looks like the Crash Landing on You star is watching another K-drama, titled, My First First Love.

This time, the bedimpled actor talks about Smart GigaLife and its promise of faster downloads, which comes in handy for the noonas and ajummas out there who are always craving for their K-drama fix.

“For the past several years, the biggest and one of the fastest growing data services that we have has been GigaVideo.  We aggregated relevant video streaming services in this app including Netflix, which offers a slew of Korean Drama content such as CLOY.  Particularly during this COVID pandemic, the biggest data traffic growth in our network was actually driven by the Netflix App (apart from TikTok) primarily accessed through our GigaVideo Pack,” shared Jane Basas SVP and head of the consumer wireless business for Smart to PeopleAsia recently.

She also noted that Smart expects this behavior to continue, as more and more subscribers get exposed to various streaming services and how conveniently they can access global content from their mobile devices.
