Color damage? Fear it no more! L’Oreal Professionnel gives Filipinas the courage to color.
L’Oreal breaks ground with the latest in hair color technology with the introduction of hair color additive, Smartbond. Used by professional hair stylists, it gives women — and men! — the freedom to go from manes as dark as midnight to platinum blonde bobs and anything and everything in between, from classic highlights to pastel balayage and rainbow-inspired ‘dos.
Smartbond shields against breakage from hair color treatments in two ways: it restores weak hair bonds, and at the same time, protects those that are strong and undamaged. Think of it as a coloring agent and treatment all in one.
Beauty professionals came together on March 7 at the BGC Arts Center to witness the launch of Smartbond in a hair and fashion show that featured world-renowned hair stylist Matthew Collins and brand ambassadors Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee, model Jessica Yang and actress-producer Lauren Young.
“Hair color in the Philippines is still very low in comparison to our Asian neighbors, and we at L’Oreal Professionnel wanted to show Filipinas that there’s nothing wrong with coloring your hair. These women embodied the three different profiles of Filipinas we were looking for, namely conservative, adventurous and modern Filipinas. We felt like they were a perfect fit to the brand and great role models for Filipinas to look up to when it comes to hair color,“ says L’Oreal Professionnel marketing director Mark Dee.
The ladies were living, walking and stunning examples of what proper hair coloring techniques made better by Smartbond can do for you, especially when coupled with the right hairstyle.

Shamcey Supsup-Lee: Square face shape
To do Hair Contouring on her square-shaped face, the corners were softened through the placement of darker shades in the corners, and lighter shades in the cheek-bones. Similarly, the use of highlights helped in adding depth and dimension.
Lauren Young: Long face shape
To do Hair Contouring on her long-shaped face, her look was opened-up thru the placement of darker shades at the top, and lighter shades in the front of the face.
Jessica Yang: Heart face shape
