The new Cartier boutique at Greenbelt 3, Makati City

Cartier, the French luxury Maison, recently announced the relocation and opening of its new boutique at Greenbelt Mall in Makati City. From its former space at Greenbelt 4, the new Cartier boutique returns with a refreshed concept in a brand-new location at Greenbelt 3. As Cartier’s first boutique in the Philippines to feature its latest interior design direction, the Maison is bound to delight and excite shoppers.

The new boutique’s reinvention was entrusted to Moinard Betaille, an agency who has worked alongside the Maison for over 20 years now. Imbued with in-depth knowledge and a deep respect of Cartier, down to its core identity, the architects involved in the project distilled and drew inspiration from the Maison’s rich heritage and distinctive codes.

A shimmering golden façade greets guests the moment they arrive outside Cartier’s newest address in the Philippines, inviting them to discover and rediscover a world of wonders inside the 321-sq. m. boutique. Once inside, they are sure to bask  in Cartier’s latest concept, which its architects have masterfully infused with Filipino references.

For starters, they would be awed by one of the boutique’s most defining features, a statement wall rendered in a patchwork effect depicting the panther — one of the Maison’s signature emblems — surrounded by sampaguita blooms, the country’s national flower. Done in a distinct banig pattern, the patchwork’s weave further pays homage to local culture. Part of the boutique’s stone flooring also draws inspiration from the local craft of basketry.

Indeed, beauty is in the details in the new boutique

Marine elements such as seashell patterns are also evident on columns and ceilings, an unmistakable nod to an archipelagic country’s rich marine biodiversity and underwater resources.

As they train their sights towards the boutique’s left, guests are bound to further bask in the warmth and elegance subtly evoked by the brand’s color codes in the form of mother-of-pearl with straw marquetry. A bespoke De Gournay wall, specially hand-painted for the new boutique, is complemented by earth-toned fabrics that also instantly vies for guests’ attention.

The journey into flora and fauna continues into the VIP lounge, a private alcove for special clients. On one side, the wall is embellished with branches full of leaves with wave-like movements and underlined by a patina that gradates from pink to white. On the opposite side, nature is again seamlessly represented by another bespoke De Gournay wall featuring lush vegetation, in obvious reference to the Philippines’ rich agricultural tradition.

Guests may further indulge in the romantic experience that awaits them in the bridal area, which is artfully decorated with a backdrop done in bas-relief technique with gold inserts by French plaster artist Del Boca. Once again, the artwork seeks to celebrate the local landscape and highlight the nation’s flora. The main theme celebrating local artistry is further emphasized in the bridal lounge with a woven basket screen, which readily brings a certain sense of softness and cohesiveness to the space.

“Cartier Greenbelt 3 is a true representation of the Maison’s dedication to embracing the local culture in each city where it is anchored. The new boutique marries the richness of Cartier’s DNA with the Philippines’ unique nature, culture and crafts. Every corner of the boutique is exquisitely decorated with a local touch to create a welcoming and exceptional client journey,” says Anne Yitzhakov, managing director, Cartier Singapore, ASEAN and Malaysia.
