Diversity in Trinity

Cartier ambassadors Paul Mescal, Jackson Wang, Yara Shahidi, and Labrinth and JISOO

To celebrate various forms of love and friendship, Cartier launches the Trinity centenary campaign featuring five of today’s most prominent and influential celebrity ambassadors.

Introduced by Cartier in 1924, it was only a matter of time before the Trinity line of interlocking jewelry pieces capture the world’s imagination. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the icon, Cartier recently launched its newest campaign celebrating not only a piece of beautiful jewelry, but also one of the world’s ultimate and enduring symbols of unity and diversity.

The engaging short film stars Cartier ambassadors Paul Mescal, JISOO, Yara Shahidi, Jackson Wang and Labrinth, as they embody various forms of love and infinite possibilities of connection between family and friends.

Up close, how do these prominent and influential personalities define Trinity? How does it resonate with their lives and the people closest to them? What was their entire experience like collaborating with other artists from diverse backgrounds and with different mindsets?

Irish actor Paul Mescal

Paul, the Irish actor, is known for the nuance and sensitivity of his work on stage and in film. Following his breakout role in Normal People, he has since earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, among other accolades.

“Trinity to me embodies friendship, love, and kindness. It’s an absolute honor to be a part of this campaign,” he says.

Since her debut, JISOO has emerged as a prominent global artist, achieving countless milestones as lead singer of BLACKPINK and as an actress teeming with talent. With more than 77.6 million followers on Instagram, this global pop star makes history, bringing together fans from various generations across the world.

“For me, Trinity is a part of our lives, it links to the idea of diversity and allows me to embrace all my facets – and to encourage new generations to do so,” she says.

Award-winning American actress and producer Yara Shahidi

Award-winning American actress and producer, Yara, the breakout star of ABC’s Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series black-ish, has quickly established herself as an impressive multi-hyphenate. The Harvard graduate is also known for her social engagement and activism, particularly in her efforts to advance on-screen diversity.

In 2023, she played the role of Tinkerbell in the film Peter Pan and Wendy, and starred in Sitting in Bars with Cake, which she also executive produced.

“Trinity is an emblem of connectivity and love which is so fitting, as my own life is a result of the deep love I’ve felt from my community of support,” says Yara.

Artist Jackson Wang

As musician, performer, fashion designer and creative director, Jackson has amassed over 97 million followers across several leading social media platforms. He’s also known as the founder of TEAM WANG and the first Chinese artist to perform at Coachella for two years in a row.

“I hope everyone can find their own standard of happiness and satisfaction. I try to establish emotional links that resemble Trinity’s values,” he says.

Singer-songwriter Labrinth

Labrinth is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. Having released three widely successful studio albums, he took on the role as composer of HBO’s hit series Euphoria. Over the years, he has won awards from the Emmys, Ivor Novellos, and Brits as well as received multiple Grammy nominations.

As a producer, Labrinth has collaborated with many internationally renowned artists, and is part of the group LSD, alongside Sia and Diplo.

“To feel, to love and to craft as a collective is a truly amazing experience. The collaboration, joining diverse worlds and creating exchanges is a true symbolism of the universality of Trinity,” the leading musician says.

Indeed, as Cartier espouses, the bonds we make, no matter what shape they take — friendship, passion, family — bring us closer. Whether that bond lasts for a lifetime or just for a moment, the important thing is a bond has been made. Even just once, that bond has the power to bind us for life.
