The demands of the Metro Manila lifestyle are bound to take a toll on the everyday Filipino. Because of this, more consumers are looking for greater convenience to address their everyday needs, which includes better value for their peso and wider access to an array of services.
Fresh off its seventh anniversary, Grab, which has always “lived life in the fast lane,” is looking to help consumers do the same with help from the largest pan-regional credit card issuer, Citi. The two teamed up to offer a co-branded Citi Grab credit card that promises users exclusive offers and rewarding features.
“The Citi Grab credit card is a natural next step, as we create more value for our users. With the Citi Grab credit card, cardholders will be introduced to a whole new level of access, value and convenience,” says GrabPay Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines managing director Huey Tyng Ooi.
Among the exclusive benefits for account holders is its cashless system. Cardholders may use their Citi points to pay for Grab services and more. The card also comes with a platinum tier upgrade for the first six months. This gives people priority booking benefits and dedicated customer support.
The card also comes with 12 free Grab rides upon sign up, amounting to a total of P2,500 worth of GrabPay Credits upon spending the first P10,000 within 60 days of using the card. Cardholders can get free Grab vouchers worth P2,000.
Point-earning bonuses apply, as well. Cardholders may get up to 10 times the usual points they would when booking rides or deliveries and up to three times they would when paying for dining, entertainment and online subscriptions. Other expenditures will earn one point for every P30 spent.
Membership fees for principal and supplementary cards are also waived for the first year.
The co-brand card, which is an extension of the Citi and Grab partnership that started in 2016, will be first introduced in the Philippines starting June 18, and will soon be available in other Southeast Asian territories, with Thailand following the Philippine launch in the second half of the year.
“We believe that the way to move forward is to harness the benefits of the digital economy, and as such, Grab will always put prime importance to innovations in the spaces that it operates,” shares Grab Philippines president Brian Cu. “Partnering with the best companies in the region like Citi allows Grab, as an everyday super app, to offer more reliable, convenient and rewarding services to its users.”
