The fashion icon and lawmaker renewed their vows on scenic Balesin Island, where they also tied the knot nine years ago. Heart Evangelista-Escudero looked radiant in a hooded Elie Saab gown and a more daring Michael Leyva number, while Sen. Chiz Escudero looked dapper in a white suit.
“As a married couple, it’s really meaningful for us to have this moment…it was the perfect time for this,” Heart told told members of the press a few days ago, when asked why they decided to hold the ceremony a year ahead of their milestone 10th anniversary.
According to sources on the island, Heart, who looked ethereal in a beige Elie Saab couture that boasts intricate beading details and a matching veil, reportedly walked down the aisle to the tune Mark Bautista’s “I Will Be Here,” which was originally sung by Gary Valenciano.
Another highlight of her look is a glittering bespoke necklace made of diamonds that she had collected over the years, some of which were gifts from her parents and husband.
For her second outfit, Heart wore a show-stopping custom Michael Leyva gown with a cape and studded with Swarovski crystals.
Sources also confirmed that the intimate ceremony, held at the Balesin Royal Villa, was attended by approximately 50 guests, composed mostly of the couple’s closest friends. The guests mostly wore beige or nude shades.
The night before the ceremony, Heart also celebrated her 39th birthday together with Chiz and her friends.
Heart and Chiz have been married for nine years and they are no strangers to public scrutiny, rumors various issues surrounding their relationship. In an interview during an event for Ultherapy, when asked why she chose to renew her vows on their ninth year – which isn’t really considered a milestone year, Heart expressed that the reason is “very personal,” and with so many things happening around them, “it was the perfect time for this.”
“As a married couple, it’s really meaningful for us to have this moment,” Heart told members of the media.
