H&T Wine Gallery introduces a number of vintages from Spain

In keeping with the holiday season, it is now offering customers Christmas hamper options that are tailored fit to various budgets, as well as a venue for small parties and corporate events.

New wine offerings at H&T

Now on its third year as an unusual but welcome watering hole this side of Quezon City, H&T Wine Gallery, under the helm of husband-and-wife team of Happy Andrada and Frenchman Tanguy Gras, is offering several surprises both for diners and those in search of ideal holiday fare and Christmas gifts this season.

During a recent wine-and-cheese pairing the couple hosted, Tanguy’s fellow Frenchman Julian Gagliardi, general manager of Happy Living Wines, introduced several wines, mostly from Spain, that are now available at H&T.

They are Flor de Vetus Verdejo 2022 (P900 per bottle), Masia Oliveda Blanc de Blancs 2022 (P780 per bottle), Masia Oliveda Negre Jove 2022 (P780 per bottle), Lionel Osmin Coeur de Malbec 2020 (P1150 per bottle), Mas Sardana Cava Brut Nature NV (P900 per bottle) and Jack Estate M-R Series Pink Moscato 2020 (P510 per bottle).

Tanguy, a former hotelier, promptly paired Julian’s latest wine offerings with cheeses flown in from their native France, particularly Normandie, and Spain. The evening’s featured cheeses were Queso de Cabra sudao curado, Chabichou du Poitou, Queso de Oveja semicurado, Manchego semicurado and Idiazabal, sheep- and goat-derived cheeses, which went well with Flor de Vetus Verdejo 2022.

For cow-derived cheeses such as Mimolette and Comté (12 months), Tanguy paired them with the Masia Oliveda Blanc de Blancs 2022 and Masia Oliveda Negre Jove 2022. The same course also highlighted Parmigiano Reggiano (18 months), which tasted more divine when paired with the Lionel Osmin Coeur de Malbec 2020.

The Camembert de Normandie and Langres were perfect with the Mas Sardana Cava Brut Nature NV, while robust blue cheeses like the Roncari and Bleu D’Auvergne found an ideal match when partnered with the suave Jack Estate M-R Series Pink Moscato 2020.

Happy, a fashion designer who still maintains her clothes business just above the couple’s wine gallery, says: “Customers can sit down, relax and enjoy a selection of about 100 different wines with delicious tapas, sandwiches and platters. Or they can come here simply for a coffee.”

The couple is also inviting clients to visit and shop for their favorite items or simply make a mental note of what to order next time. They don’t even have to go their physically, as H&T caters to online orders, which can be delivered to any point in Metro Manila and nearby towns and cities.

Since it introduced the feature this February, H&T has also become a preferred destination for people living nearby to hold their private parties – from birthdays and anniversaries to corporate meetings and company events.

“Since everyone loves good things that never seem to end, we now offer unlimited wine and sangria all day, every day,” Tanguy informs. “Every two weeks, our wine selection by the glass changes, which allows enthusiasts to taste new labels. I’m always available to walk them through and help improve the knowledge of both novices and wine philomaths.”

H&T is now also accepting orders for its Christmas hampers. And just like in previous years, Happy and Tanguy will give a portion of the sales from these hampers for the benefit of Bethany House Sto. Nino Orphanage.

“We never run out of fun activities at H&T Wine Gallery,” says Happy. “We have a selection of wine board games, for instance, freely available to customers. We also have frequent events such as wine and weaving or sip and pour, which is a paint-pouring activity accompanied by unlimited servings of wine.”
