The term “speciality coffee†is given to a brew when the beans used it its production were grown in a carefully controlled area, and meet the highest standards in its roasting, storage and brewing. Those who drink a cup of speciality coffee can immediately tell the difference, regardless of how much or how little they know about the centuries-old drink.
In this light, Caravan Black owner and co-founder Miguel Rodriguez explains that “the future of coffee does not lie with its complexity, but should rather evolve through its simplicity,†which is exactly what defines Caravan Black’s coffee. Coffee can be given a myriad of fancy names, but “at the core of it all is the beautiful backbone stemming from the espresso.â€
Basically, the simpler, the better.
That’s the essence of a great cup of coffee — tasting its characteristic flavors with a minimal mix of other ingredients, and that’s what Caravan Black’s customers can expect to experience.
Aside from carefully curated brews, Caravan Black also offers hearty comfort food sandwiches, pasta, sweets and select alcoholic beverages (some of which are coffee based).

Caravan Black is open from Mondays through Fridays at 8 Â a.m. to 10 Â p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Starting this month, the Caravan Black Coffee Company will be giving out loyalty cards.
