Paris-trained designer Jojie Lloren, one of PeopleAsia’s 2018 Men Who Matter awardees, who’s equally adept at both haute couture and pret-a-porter fashion, sets aside his hat as a made-to-measure designer, as he unveils his latest ready-to-wear pieces for Rustan’s JILL and Luna brands.
As people the world over continue to limit their movements because of the current health crisis, JILL’s latest collection brings to mind past and future travels, with thoughts on experiences that are navigated by one’s desires or by one’s destiny. To reflect the inspiration of the collection, Jojie uses modern nautical stripes, visa stamps and compasses on his pieces, printing them onto airy, oversized blouses and lightweight dresses. Understated details and accents come in the form of knots, drawstrings, unconventional gathers, and knife pleats.
With both form and function in mind, high-waist pants are made with pleated fronts, and are either long and loose, or cropped and gathered at the hem.
