Kristine Lim honors women in month-long art exhibit in Intramuros

The “Artist on a Mission” opened her Fort Santiago show dubbed as “The Redemption of Eve” with a forum revolving around “Women of Faith in Nation-Building.” 

In honor of Women’s Month, women are honored and celebrated this March in Intramuros, Manila in an art exhibit and installation of artist Kristine Lim, which were unveiled last March 1. 

Envisioned as an intimate art forum, The Redemption of Eve was graced by Manila Councilor Uno Lim, John Arcilla, Patrick Maglinao, Johannes Chua, Gemmalyn Crosby, Coloma Guest Artist and Pastor Monique Lopez Ong.

Kristine’s works will be used as the Women’s Month cover of Liwayway magazine. The artworks featured in the magazine are also exhibited at Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila for the whole month of March.

Liwayway, the leading Tagalog-language magazine, has been around since 1922. It contains Tagalog serialized novels, short stories, poetry, serialized comics, essays, news features and entertainment news. Liwayway has played an integral role in the history of the country through its efforts to uphold literature, arts and culture. 

A forum on “Women of Faith in Nation-Building” was held to coincide with the exhibit’s official opening. Speakers were Shawntel Nieto, Reginald Nieto, Lita Teodosio, Inka Madera, Rodylyn Manzano, Mitzi Reyes and Pastor Monique Lopez-Ong.
