Kultura kicks off fashion pop-up series dubbed as “Burda at Habi”

The concept is more than the usual promotion of Filipino-inspired fashion. Apart from honoring the country’s heritage by highlighting its craft and weaving traditions, the series of pop-up events is Kultura’s statement against “disposable” fashion. “Burda at Habi: The Artistry of Filipino Fashion” is scheduled throughout the year at various Kultura branches.

The campaign, which kicked off recently at Kultura, SM Store in Mall of Asia, casts a modern lens on the country’s traditional wear — Filipiniana and Barong — showcasing how heritage pieces can be both timeless and wearable.

Whether you’re a longtime Filipiniana advocate or are experimenting with these styles for the first time, Kultura’s pop-up series provides the perfect opportunity to build a meaningful wardrobe with iconic pieces that suit your personal style.

“Burda at Habi” proudly presents a collection that celebrates the traditional crafts of embroidery and weaving that define the modern barong and Filipiniana. From gossamer local fabrics, hand-loomed textiles and patterns that come to weavers in dreams, to painstaking embroidery merged with updated silhouettes and details, the collection is a marvel of Filipino artistry for today’s style-setters.

With an extensive range of both formal and casual styles, plus handcrafted bags and accessories to complete the look, discover statement finds for all occasions, be it daily events, special celebrations, or even Independence Day dressing. Beautifully imbued with the country’s rich heritage and craft traditions, each piece is a sustainable fashion investment that will last you for years to come.

The main “Burda at Habi” pop-up is ongoing at Kultura, SM Store in Mall of Asia until May 20. The official launch last May 8 was headlined by Kultura ambassador Marian Rivera.

Expect to find a handpicked selection of Filipiniana and barong pieces from in-house brands like Raffaella, Nuevo Ystilo, EN Barong Filipino, as well as exciting guest brands such as Alixia Marie, Anmari, Azucar, Binibini Marikit, Daryl Maat, Matthew and Melka, Mjorian, Pamanna Jewellery, and Pampinay, available at the main pop-up at Kultura, SM Store in Mall of Asia.

The succeeding pop-ups will take place at Kultura in SM Baguio, SM Sta. Rosa, SM Iloilo, and SM Southmall, all happening from May 29 to June 12. These locations will likewise offer a curated selection of traditional and contemporary fashion finds, this time highlighting purely in-house collections.
