Mall chain and jewelry brand draw inspiration from classic Christmas staple

From the live staging of The Nutcracker to holiday fairs and shopping promos, everyone is in for a slew of surprises as Ayala Malls teams up with Pandora.

You can now experience the most wonderful time of the year live and in person, together with family and friends, just like the kind of Christmas we all look forward to in the past.

Amidst all that tinsel and colorful lights, Ayala Malls and Pandora are spreading the joys of Christmas starting with the staging of The Nutcracker by STEPS Dance Studio.

“Ayala Malls has always championed amazing experiences. We create opportunities for people to bond and build new memories. This year, we are celebrating sweet reunions and we do this by gathering families to spark or rediscover traditions, such as watching The Nutcracker together, which is truly a Christmas classic,” says Ayala Malls president Christopher Maglanoc.

A purveyor of the arts, STEPS Dance Studio director Sofia Zobel-Elizalde elaborates on the significance of The Nutcracker and its role in bringing families together: “Christmas is not the same without The Nutcracker. All over the world, they play The Nutcracker during this time. The season is somewhat not the same without bringing your children, lolos and lolas to see The Nutcracker.”

Apart from its classic, heartwarming story, The Nutcracker’s imaginative and wondrous setting makes it a timeless tale that appeals even among the youth. Retold from generation to generation, the story comes to life once again at Ayala Malls. Throughout the rest of November and December, STEPS Dance Studio is touring the malls to bring the show to more Filipinos in different parts of the country, with accompaniment by the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir in Manila and Loboc Children’s Choir in Cebu.

Remaining shows include December 3 at U.P. Town Center; December 4 at Ayala Malls Circuit; December 10 at Ayala Center Cebu; December 11 at Alabang Town Center; December 17 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay; and December 18 at Glorietta.

In staging the world of The Nutcracker, Ayala Malls’ event partner, Pandora, is setting up charm-filled pop-up vignettes at every location of the mall tour. One of the most sought-after and picture-worthy elements is the Pandora Christmas tree, lavished in Nutcracker charms from the brand’s latest Christmas jewelry collection. With the aim of spreading the message of togetherness, kindness, and love, Pandora’s new collection also features stars, snowflakes, reindeer and gingerbread houses, to name a few.

With a new chapter that befalls every Filipino—a post-pandemic one, so to speak—there is a call to rekindle joy, which is only possible through amazing experiences. Sofia concludes, “If there’s one thing that could probably bring back the magic and the spirit of Christmas for Filipino mallgoers, it’s to bring back the Nutcracker. Let’s bring back the magic.”

In addition to The Nutcracker mall tour, Ayala Malls is setting up a series of Sweet Festivals that will satisfy cravings and elevate the season with exciting new memories.

In line with Ayala Malls’ main Christmas show, there will also be The Nutcracker fairs where patrons can indulge in sweet treats and meet fellow coffee lovers and milk tea fanatics. The treats also make thoughtful gifts, which patrons can bring to their next Christmas party.

Meanwhile, BPI clients are in for a holiday treat when they visit Glorietta, TriNoma, Greenbelt, Alabang Town Center, Ayala Center Cebu, Abreeza, Maquee Mall, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Ayala Malls Vertis North, Ayala Malls Solenad, Ayala Malls The 30th and Ayala Malls Serin!

For any minimum spend of P1,500 on dining, or P3,000 on retail and department store purchases, or P5,000 on supermarket transactions in single receipts using any BPI credit card, customers get free P300 worth of vouchers that they can use for one out of four options. The first is P300 worth of Timezone gift card. Second is P300 worth of department store voucher. Third is P300 worth of Ayala Malls Cinema gift certificate. Fourth is P300 worth supermarket voucher. The prizes are redeemable in select participating malls only.

Ongoing until December 31, these treats are bound to bring couples, families and friends and together as they savor more opportunities for reunions, gift-giving and catching up this Christmas.
