In the latest issue of PeopleAsia ENCLAVES with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on the cover, the mayor talks to PeopleAsia’s managing editor Jose Paolo dela Cruz about his 10-year plan for the city, his hopes, dreams, visions and the history of Manila through his own memories while growing up as a carefree, street-smart kid. “I am currently being photographed in a historic building that was bombed, rebuilt and now used for various state functions. There aren’t many places like this anywhere in the country. That is the character of Manila. We are very fortunate to be here,” Isko, the subject of the magazine’s 12-page feature and photo shoot, said during the cover shoot at the Ayuntamiento de Manila in Intramuros.
From historic Manila, PeopleAsia ENCLAVES brings you to some world-class homes in the country. The virtual journey starts with marketing and communications expert Toni Abad’s house, which features her American furniture and accent pieces with a hint of French and Chinese influences; the eclectic solar-powered home of Norwegian Ambassador Bjørn Jahnsen and Mexican wife Sandra, where Scandinavian minimalism and Mexican colors meet; and modernist architect Carlo Calma’s design. Dubbed as the “galvanized house,” one of its exterior focal points is its exoskeleton of a façade.
Also in this issue is the “Instagrammable” Jewel Changi in Singapore, the newly opened Dusit and Lubi Plantation Resort in Davao and Manila’s recently concluded exhibits and festivals such as Manila FAME, ManilArt and “Hugis Atbp.” by graduating students of the Philippine School of Interior Design.
PeopleAsia ENCLAVES is now available in leading bookstores and newsstands nationwide.
