Marriott Moments A-Fair, Marriott Manila’s annual July bridal and fashion fair, marks the debut of “Luxuriant Expo” as well as Marriott Bonvoy’s partnership with key people behind Calgary International Fashion and Arts Week.
On its fourth season, the Marriott Moments A-Fair introduces “Luxuriant Expo,” an event that highlights high fashion, including bridal wear, and key players in the hospitality, weddings and special events industries at Manila Mariott Hotel’s MGBX Exhibition Hall.
This year also ushers in a tripartite partnership involving Marriott Bonvoy, Themes & Motifs, one of the country’s leading bridal fair organizers, and Spotlight Couronne Internationale (SCI) from Canada.
At the same time, the event also marks the debut of Calgary International Fashion and Arts Week (CIFAW) in Manila, as it expands beyond North America by gathering some of the best designers from the Philippines and Canada in one show.
Over the years, Marriott Moments A-Fair has earned a reputation as one of the best venues to showcase Filipino creativity, while CIFAW has become one of Canada’s leading platforms for global fashion, networking and education, hosting talks on trends, inclusivity and the future of the fashion industry.
For its Manila debut, CIFAW’s ninth edition is holding Philippine Fashion Weekend at Manila Mariott Hotel from July 26 to 27.
With the theme, “Home,” CIFAW aims to inspire every Filipino to take pride in their roots and in the place Filipinos call home—the Philippines.
Featured designers who recently gave journalists a sample of what to expect come July through a mini fashion include Odelon Simpao, John Ablaza, Kenny Ladaga, Aurea Vinluan, Maliyah Abenir and the Filipino-Canadian group behind SCI PH.
The recent preview was graced by CIFAW’S Limuel Hayag Vilela and Alvin Masangkay Francia, Marriott International’s Bruce Winton, Lala Quilantang and Archie Nicasio, and Themes & Motifs Sharon Fabian.
