The former beauty queen attributes her natural glow to healthy living and a holistic approach to beauty and wellness.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young has a new role, and it could be one of her most important roles yet as she nears her 30s. In keeping with her new, holistic approach to beauty, the 28-year-old actress and TV host has formally announced her latest involvement as brand ambassador of CosmoSkin L-Glutathione and CosmoSkin Marine Collagen Powder Drink.
Both products are manufactured by Bargn Farmaceutici Company (BFC), which, as envisioned by its founders Niño Bautista and John Redentor Gatus, is “committed in helping people achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.” Megan swears by the two products in helping her achieve “a natural glow from within” even without makeup.
In an exclusive interview at Fairmont Hotel Makati soon after her endorsement was formally announced, Megan says she was convinced to endorse both products because “I’m now into wellness.”
As a sought-after endorser, Megan has lent her name to various products and services, from banks to cars, hair to skincare products, but the CosmoSkin line of neutraceuticals, she says, is different. It also taps into a “different aspect of my life, which I want to share with others.”
Contrary to popular belief, glutathione isn’t all about whitening, she adds. Such a noticeable and often welcome side effect has eclipsed the food supplement’s real and primary purpose: to protect and strengthen the liver. That it’s also an anti-oxidant, says Megan, makes it a more potent ally in promoting overall wellness and delaying the aging process.
What’s more, the product’s alpha lipoic acid and ascorbic acid help the body retain glutathione. The longer that layer of glutathione stays in the body, the longer it protects and promotes optimum liver function.
“Overtime, that liver’s protective coat is diminished and even destroyed,” says Megan, who takes CosmoSkin’s L-Glutathione supplement twice a day. “So it’s never too early to take glutathione to help us take care of our livers.”
CosmoSkin L-Glutathione is also packed with antioxidants, which protect the body from free radicals that could cause cell damage. Apart from providing the liver with a protective layer, it’s also said to help strengthen the immune system and facilitate in the removal of toxins in the liver.
CosmoSkin Marine Collagen Powder Drink, on the other hand, is said to be the only 20,000-milligram powdered drink of its kind in the market today. Formulated in “hydrolyzed” form for easier absorption, the product is credited by its makers for reversing obvious signs of skin aging such as dryness, wrinkles, sagging and uneven skin tone.
Each box of the CosmoSkin Marine Collagen Powder Drink contains six tubes or cylinders. One tube of collagen, which you mix with either water or your favorite drink, including coffee, milk, orange juice and protein shake, is enough for a single day’s use. But you don’t have to consume it in one sitting. Like Megan, who loves taking protein drinks after her workouts, you can take the powdered collagen in staggered amounts by mixing it with your drinks during the course of a day.

I became so overly concerned about my appearance for fear that I might be violating the contract, which required me to live up to the Miss World brand,” she says witch a chuckle.
But it was only recently when “I decided to go deeper,” she adds. Perhaps channeling the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, Megan realized the importance of an “inside out” approach when it comes to beauty. And it also pays to do it early.
“When I was starting, I knew nothing about beauty,” she confesses. “I was, in fact, quite laidback. I wasn’t so conscious about myself and my appearance. But now that I’m older, I want to focus more on taking care of myself.”
And that also includes “making sure I eat well.” Although she doesn’t subscribe to a special diet, Megan tries to eat “fresh food” most of the time. To make sure that she does, she herself prepares her food most of the time.
“I’m not a vegan. In fact, I love meat! I’m not allergic to seafood. The only thing I’m allergic to, I think, is dust,” she shares.
After making sure that she looked her best before stepping out of the house during her reign as Miss World, Megan has now learned to “relax.” Instead, “I now focus more on what I eat, including the supplements I take.”
“I’d rather approach beauty as naturally as possible in order to age as gracefully as possible,” she adds. “It’s not bad to be curious in our search to slow down the aging process. When I was looking for supplements to take, the CosmoSkin line was one of those I was considering of taking. I’m happy I did.
