Touted as the most anticipated car and motor trade show in the Philippines, the highly anticipated Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will be open at the World Trade Center in Pasay City until April 7.

MIAS showcases the world’s top car brands all under one roof. For MG Philippines, MIAS is the ideal venue to present its latest products, as it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with other leading international car brands present at the show.

“MG has done very well in many parts of the world where, in the past, the MG brand was not a household name,” says The Covenant Car Company, Inc. president Atty. Alberto Arcilla. “Places like Latin America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia have embraced MG for their high quality and ability to satisfy various needs and lifestyles.”

MG Philippines currently has three models on display, and has them available for a test drive at the event. These are the MG ZS crossover SUV, the MG RX5 compact SUV and the MG 6 fastback sedan. Each model from MG Philippines comes with one-year free preventative maintenance schedule, and gives future owners access to a host of innovative aftersales services. This includes the mobile garage service, where MG owners can have their cars serviced right in the comfort of their homes.

Atty. Alberto Arcilla adds: “We see that the qualities of today’s MG cars strongly appeal to Filipino buyers, and that is why we are showcasing these modern, attainable, British heritage vehicles at an event such as the MIAS where the Filipino car-buying public can have a hands-on experience with them.”

Fun and function

The overall theme for this year’s MIAS is “fun and function.” The “function” aspect is addressed by offering the public all the helpful information it can get on the latest MG products, promos and aftersales services.

MG Philippines didn’t forgot about the “fun” part, as well. MIAS 2019 also serves as the culminating venue for MG Philippines’ ongoing free concert series, MG Live! The company will gather the country’s top bands in an effort to “bring the driving playlists of Filipinos to life.”

Included in the lineup is OPM band Ultra Combo. The band will perform at the MG Philippines booth tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. Ultra Combo is made up of Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and Raymund Marasigan, and will play popular Eraserheads songs for the crowd. MG Live! is a free event open to all car and music lovers. Special MG giveaways and VIP concert passes also await those who visit the MG Philippines booth.

The MG 6: Fast is Back

MG Philippines also launched “Fast is Back” at the MIAS, one of its MG 6 fastback sedans—a compact sedan that offers a new take on sport-luxury and enjoyable driving dynamics. The MG 6 is designed to satisfy those who want to get behind the wheel of a stylish car that won’t sacrifice comfort.

The MG 6 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 164 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. It’s also equipped with a host of driver assistive features, including Cornering Brake Control, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control and other systems that ensure driver safety is placed at the forefront.

Inside, the spacious cabin is finished in soft-touch materials, while the seats provide ample lumbar support for a more comfortable drive. The MG 6 also features large boot space, split-folding rear seats, an eight-inch LCD infotainment unit equipped with Apple CarPlay™, a push start/stop button, a multi-function steering wheel and a sunroof for when the weather outside is pleasant.
