Nadine Lustre glows during skincare launch

Nadine, a proud “eco-warrior’ and committed environmentalist, also underscored her partnership with Bioten in pursuit of “The Green and Honest by the Numbers” campaign, which hopes to raise funds for the planting of 88,000 trees to aid in the 20-year reforestation project to benefit Aeta families in Yangil, Zambales

Actress Nadine Lustre, the most recognizable face behind the Bioten line of beauty products, recently graced the European skincare brand’s launch in Manila of its Bioten’s Skin Glow and Vitamin C lines at Whitespace. It also marked the first-ever in-person event Bioten and its exclusive local distributor iFace hosted since virtually launching the brand last year.

Also gracing the party were iFace officials, led by its president, Angie Goyena , as well as key people from Sarantis, the Athens-based company behind Bioten. Flying through several time zones just to get to Asia, including Manila, the Greeks’ presence underscored the growing importance of the Filipino market for affordably priced, but supposedly highly effective beauty products.

Bioten brand ambassador Nadine Lustre is also an environmentalist, partnering with iFace and two other organizations in raising funds to replant 20,000 hectares of land in Zambales with 88,000 trees.
Bioten Vitamin C and Skin Glow lines

Bioten’s Skin Glow Line, for instance, boasts of White Ten, which is composed of 10 natural and skin-brightening ingredients: niacinamide, centella asiatica, camelia japonica, matsutake mushroom, mulberry, paper mulberry, green tea, apple fruit, rhus semialata extracts and glucosamine.

Apart from White Ten, Bioten Skin Glow is enhanced with vitamin B3, well-known for strengthening the skin barrier and improving skin tone, as well as stable, high-tolerance Vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps decrease hyperpigmentation. It also has hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5 and glycerin that are all known to hydrate, soften, and keep skin smooth.

The line consists of a rich velvety mousse cleanser (P299), soothing and refreshing toner (P299), supercharged serum (P799), lightweight day cream (P699) and a satin-feel night cream (P699).

The Bioten Vitamin C line, on the other hand, is also a complete line of skin care packed this time potent antioxidants and energizing properties. A legendary skincare ingredient, Vitamin C is known to be a strong ally in brightening your skin and plays a vital role in the formation of collagen. It is also considered to effectively repair skin cells and protect against damage from environmental stressors.

The line includes a day cream (P699) and a night cream (P699), both with 100 percent natural orange and lime extracts and anti-aging ampoules (P799), which contain, at five percent, a powerful complex of vitamin C and a brightening amino acid. Each product has 90 percent ingredients of natural origin, making it not just an eco-friendly option, but also a safe and beneficial skincare regimen.

At the same time, Nadine, a proud “eco-warrior’ and committed environmentalist, also underscored her partnership with Bioten, through the efforts of For the Future and Make a Difference (MAD) Travel, in pursuit of “The Green and Honest by the Numbers” campaign, which hopes to raise funds for the planting of 88,000 trees to aid in the 20-year reforestation project to benefit Aeta families in Yangil, Zambales.

Founded in 2015, MAD Travel is a social enterprise working for and with various tribes and local communities, with the reforestation of Yangil being its flagship project. In 2019, For the Future (formerly Fund The Forest) joined the advocacy by making itself a platform that enables anyone to support various causes.

Nadine, together with Bioten, is helping the project reach its goal of cultivating 3,000 hectares of Aeta ancestral domain, which will help enrich the livelihood of the tribe and the environment itself.

“I believe I have a responsibility to the next generations—I will do what I can to raise awareness for a more sustainable future, as well as take concrete action. I begin here—with raising funds for trees. I hope everyone will join me in doing this,” says Nadine, arguably one of Bioten’s most famous brand ambassadors.

The number 88 holds a symbolic significance for both Nadine and the brand. The number is representative of the 88 ingredients ingredients of natural origin found in Bioten’s Skin Moisture line, which Nadine loves. The brand, like Nadine, shares the same values of being green, honest and committing real actions towards sustainability.

“Bioten has always been honest about the ingredients that are put into every bottle it makes. We’re not 100 percent natural, but each box proudly and truthfully states the percentage of natural ingredients used in it,” states Angie. “The skin moisture line uses 88 percent ingredients of natural origin and is the line Nadine is most associated with, hence the commitment to fund 88,000 trees.”

Nadine, through her network and fans, will commit to raising enough funds for 44,000 seeds to be planted over a course of several years. And in true partnership, Bioten Skin Care will match the number, bringing the total to 88,000 fruit and forest trees.

This campaign is proud of its contribution to the actual rebuilding of the forest and subsequently encouraging millions of others to act.

Each seedling costs P50. If you would like to join this movement, you can make a donation, through Nadine Lustre, to this cause via: https://donation.ph/FTF-88k.
