Netizens welcome ‘guilty’ verdict for Ampatuans, lament slow justice system

Dubbed as the “Maguindanao Massacre,” the slaughter of 58 men and women, including 32 journalists was considered as one of the world’s most gruesome crimes. It is also the biggest case of election-related protest, and undoubtedly, one of the most cruel incidents of mass murder in the 21st century. Today, after almost 10 years, the case was finally put to an end, as Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Solis Reyes makes history with a “guilty” verdict for the Ampatuans.

Netizens on Twitter have different reactions and opinions about the verdict. Some users dubbed this day as a day of justice, while there are also several tweets expressing dismay on the slow judicial process of the government.
