New anchors, new programs: ANC strengthens its lineup this March

ANC, the ABS-CBN news channel and the country’s first 24/7 English language news channel, strengthens its show lineup with three new shows and adds new faces to its roster of broadcast journalists.

Early morning risers can expect to wake up to new morning show “Early Edition” anchored by TJ Manotoc and Annalisa Burgos alongside Paolo Abrera, Michelle Ong and Christian Esguerra. The all-encompassing news program that airs from Monday to Friday at 5:30 a.m. features the latest headlines in the Philippines and from around the world, as well as interviews with experts on politics, the economy and foreign policy. The show that promises a complete kick off to your day also has a lighter side to it, and touches on trending topics on sports, entertainment and lifestyle.

“Early Edition” is also internationally experienced news anchor Annalisa Burgos’ major appearance on the network. “I grew up watching The Filipino Channel and learned Tagalog by watching it with my grandmother. So many Filipino immigrants rely on ABS-CBN to stay connected to their motherland and I’m honored to be part of this tradition,” Annalisa explains.

On the other hand, sports fanatics can now tune into “Gametime.” The short and sweet 30-minute sports newscast that airs on weekdays at 9:30 p.m. After a long day at work, the show can serve as  their ultimate source of sports highlights, game recaps, exclusive interviews and interactive segments presented by upcoming anchor Migs Bustos.

“When a viewer gets home from a tiring day, the best way to relax is by watching the program. The analysis and in-depth coverage of sports events is also something they should watch out for,” Migs explains.

Not to be forgotten is “The Bureau.” Presented by Karmina Constantino at 4 p.m. and Ron Cruz at 7 p.m., the program offers a comprehensive take on international news and events with reports from worldwide news resources.

With just the first quarter of the year coming to a close, ABS-CBN integrated news and current affairs head Ging Reyes says that more can be expected from the news channel as 2017 progresses in terms of the channel’s business and political content and programming, as well as live event features.

“We in ABS-CBN never tire of innovating. We are always restless. We always challenge ourselves to do better. The spirit of adapting to change and delivering what our viewers need continues this year,” Ging concludes.
