Launched recently at the SMX Aura Convention Center, gusto, a digital publication and e-commerce platform, strives to redefine holistic living, dismantle the outdated stigma on caring for one’s well-being, and offer a more inclusive and curated experience to individuals starting their wellness journey.
The summit, produced by NGT Boutique Agency and co-presented by Maxicare, featured booths from different local and international wellness and lifestyle brands and had immersive wellness classes that introduced a fresher take on self-care activities.
Nicole Thorp, gusto’s founder, said the brand seeks to be an avenue for information about the various holistic practices and introduce these concepts to a broader local audience.
“I want to create a safe space, like a space for people not to be intimidated or discouraged because there’s so many information, like so much [of these] concepts available online,” Thorp added.
The founder also highlighted that the medium wanted to help people discover wellness activities that they can incorporate into their daily lives, sharing that holistic living is different for everyone since we all have different needs and backgrounds.
With over 50 partner brands, gusto‘s Holistic Summit introduced a one-of-a-kind exposure for newcomers and longtime wellness enthusiasts alike, engaging with the various advocates, specialists, clothing, food, beverages and pet care products to try. Its pop-up booths stray away from the usual lined-up format, having couches and tables set in the middle of the booths.
“[I]f you notice, it’s not like a traditional pop-up. It was like more island style, you know, opportunity for people to meet other people, network, you know, meet like-minded individuals and like community build,” Thorp said.
The summit also showcased 14 curated wellness activities like graphite portraiture, yoga, mat pilates, meditation, sound healing sessions and more.
Aside from being a digital publication, gusto plans to make its summit a bi-annual event and hosts pocket events with the same personalized holistic wellness-centered experiences. The platform also aims to offer corporate wellness packages soon for companies looking to enhance their wellness initiatives.
