PeopleAsia “Remembering PNoy” & “People of the Year 2021” Virtual Awards Night win Quills

The magazine continues to blaze a trail as it receives an “Award of Excellence” for its special commemorative issue on the late President Benigno Aquino Jr. and an “Award of Merit” for its “People of the Year 2021” Virtual Awards Night from the 19th Philippine Quill Awards.

PeopleAsia’s view to a Quill

For the seventh year in a row, PeopleAsia bagged yet another “Award of Excellence” and “Award of Merit” from the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines (IABC – Philippines) at the 19th Philippine Quill Awards. Such recognitions are given to professional and student communicators who exemplify the Quills’ global standards of excellent, effective and purposeful business communication.

“Indeed, pandemic or not, live or digital, from pixels to print, PeopleAsia always has its view on the Quill,” says PeopleAsia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez.

This year, PeopleAsia won an “Award or Excellence” for its ”Remembering PNoy” Special issue, which was released in August 2021, shortly after the death of former President Benigno Aquino III. The special collector’s edition, which sold out within just a few days, was a treasure trove of pictures and stories on the late President and his parents, icons of democracy Sen. Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino.

PeopleAsia also earned an “Award of Merit” for its “People of the Year 2021” Virtual Awards Night, which was streamed in April 2021 to tens of thousands of online viewers. The virtual awards night honored “People of the Year” awardees who “sparked hope” amid the Covid-19 pandemic, such as special awardees former Vice President Leni Robredo and former Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, Deputy House Speaker Rep. Mikee Romero, The Philippine STAR editor-in-chief Ana Marie Pamintuan, Philippine General Hospital director Dr. Gerardo “Gap” Legaspi and Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, to name a few.

Also honored were “Builder of the Year” Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corp., “Bank of the Year” HSBC, and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, who took the People’s Choice Award.
