Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach proved that she is confidently beautiful with a heart, not just in front of the cameras, but also in the kitchen, as she launches her very own cloud food concept, “Pia’s Kitchen.”

Launched in collaboration with Chef Carlo Miguel of CloudEats, Pia’s Kitchen features the former beauty queen’s favorite dishes from countries she has traveled to — making fans feel like they’re traveling alongside her through its culinary offerings. For its part, CloudEats will be releasing dishes from different countries every three months, starting with Japan.

“When I go to different places, I really like to immerse myself in the culture, not just through sightseeing, but also by tasting the food.” Her love for food and travel inspired her to share the culture and flavors that she enjoyed to customers who will order from her menu.

And it’s an exciting project for For Pia, too, who studied at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila. “When I was studying cuisine, it was mostly about savory hot food. I also enjoyed making desserts so maybe it’s time that the universe tasted these,” Pia told the press..

Creating the menu, as explained by Pia and Chef Carlo, was a collaborative effort. All of the dishes were vetted by the dynamic duo, who joined forces to critique and analyze the dishes before they were finally presented to the public. The chef would also advise Pia on how each dish could be improved. “I really take my time and I try to analyze and experience asking questions like ‘Is this sauce ok? Should it be sweeter? Should it be more savory? How about we take out this ingredient and add this instead?” said Pia.

For the current offerings on the menu, Pia and Chef Carlo curated five dishes inspired by Japan’s love for convenience food. The different types of Sandos (Japanese-style sandwiches) offered range from your usual egg sando, spam sando, and the spicier kani sando. Aside from the sandwiches, Chef Carlo also brings out one of his all time favorite Asian dishes: the egg tart.

For the main dishes, Chef Carlo and Pia highlighted three of their favorite dishes: the Salmon Teriyaki Salad with added quinoa and sauce, the Chicken Katsu Curry with the sauce and meal separated, and the Beef Gyudon. All of the dishes were served in the same packaging as you’d find it if you ordered it on GrabFood.

Pia added: “Before, they’d think na ‘kapag delivery, hindi na fresh yan’ or ‘hindi na iyan quality’) if it’s a delivery, it’s no longer fresh or high quality). But that’s not the case anymore because of so many hardworking and dedicated riders that we have who take care of the food delivery and make sure that it gets to you on time and fresh.”

All of the dishes featured and more will be available on GrabFood until the next country is unveiled for Pia’s Kitchen. In order to receive updates or find out what’s next on the travel menu, you can follow @piasworldkitchen or @cloud.eats on Instagram.
