Pinky Tobiano goes Moroccan

Using items mostly sourced from Morocco, the tablescape diva, together with Rustan’s Makati, spruced up five tables that once again wowed guests and inspired them to buy and create similar arrangements in their homes.

Taking her eye and signature style for tablescaping yet again to new directions, chemist and tablescape artist Pinky Tobiano went Moroccan recently as she arranged not one, but five tables using some of the most beautiful and intricate home items from the exotic Kingdom of Morocco.

Dubbed an “Enchanted Afternoon with Pinky Tobiano,” the event at the home section of Rustan’s Makati was jointly hosted by the Embassy of Morocco and Zenaida “Nedy” Tantoco, chairman and CEO of Rustan Commercial Corp. and Stores Specialists, Inc.

Rustan’s and Pinky started their collaboration during the pandemic when the country’s leading luxury department store chain saw her impressive range as a tablescape artist. Rustan’s also promptly got her as an influencer for some of its premium home store brands.

As usual, Pinky didn’t disappoint, as her designs impressed and delighted guests consisting of celebrities, lifestyle journalists, expats and friends of the artist.

Pinky, together with Nedy, attended to the event’s noteworthy guests such as Margie Moran, Bianca Manalo, Chavit Singson, Nadine Samonte, Marie Lozano and Bambbi Fuentes.

Pinky’s daughters, Karrel and Pianne Sinfuego, were also in present. Malou Martinez, Roxanne Farillas, Ferdie Salvador, Anna Magkawas, Techie Hagedorn, Dong Ronquillo and Gerry Sy graced the event as well.

A chemist by profession, as well as a philanthropist, social media influencer and the undisputed “Queen of Tablescaping,” Pinky lovingly prepared five table layouts where she easily incorporated selected items from Morocco, including tables chairs, plates, glasses, bowls, placemats and table runners, among other hard-to-find items.

Pinky also made use of colorful mosaic Zellige tables, which were handmade in Morocco using unrefined, hand-kneaded and kiln-fired clay. They can also be used for gardens and terraces to add charm to the place.

Also featured during the event were Serghini porcelain tea sets for six, which has a teapot and a serving tray, and Serghini 30-piece set, Moroccan dinner ware set of 12, plus other Moroccan merchandise.

During the first month of the ongoing exhibit sale, five percent of the proceeds from  the sale of the Moroccan items will be donated to the victims of the recent earthquake in Morocco. The exhibit will run until the end of the year.

Lucky patrons will also get to fly to Morocco, as  Emirates Airlines raffles off a round-trip business class ticket for two to the country on January 11, 2024.
