Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez has quite a history with makeup.
At 11, she would sing in a resto-bar in Bulacan, where the owner herself would do her makeup. When she finally hit the big time, the rising star would leave her home in Bulacan at the wee hours of the morning to have her makeup done in Makati, before going back to ABS CBN in Quezon City to do her shows.
“It would cost me around P1,000, which was quite an amount for me at that time. I would take the bus… it was very challenging to say the least,” she recalled. And then, Regine decided to learn how to do her own makeup. She never looked back.
It therefore came as no surprise that Regine finally joined the ranks of celebrities with their own makeup lines, when she collaborated with fast-rising cosmetics brand BYS. Together, they launched the 22-piece “REIGNE” collection – a play-up of the legendary singer’s name that is reflective of her fun and elegant personality.
The two traits also serve as the character of the products under REIGNE. These are a powder brush, brow pencil, lipstick, eyebrow palette, eyeshadow palette and a lipstick set, as well as a Duo Powder Palette, which is a foundation and concealer in a palette.

“With makeup, it’s all about practice. Even after decades of doing my own makeup, I still make mistakes, but as they say, practice makes perfect,” said Regine, who believes that anyone can be an expert in applying makeup (in time). She also noted that the greatest makeup tip she has ever received came from legendary makeup artist Fanny Serrano. “He taught me how to use makeup seamlessly. The secret: blend well!”
As with previous BYS collections, the new collab with Regine encourages makeup enthusiasts to be their own expert using the cosmetic essentials curated by Queen Regine herself for a young and fresh look every day.
Armed with her legion of fans, Regine was pleased to report that the BYS REIGNE line was sold out days within its release. But don’t fret just yet! Stocks have been replenished and are now available at Watsons and SM Beauty stores nationwide, as well as at beautybeat.ph.
