Gracing the magazine’s April-May 2018 issue are businessman Dennis Uy and his stunning wife Cherylyn. This power couple from Davao has risen to national prominence with their growing business interests in petroleum (Phoenix Petroleum), shipping and logistics (2G0 and Chelsea logistics), real estate (Udevco), education (Enderun Colleges) and convenience stores (Family Mart)

More than their success, though, Dennis and Che (as they are called by their friends) insist that marital bliss is their ultimate treasure. In the interview with star reporter Iris Gonzales, the business tycoon shares his ultimate secret to happiness: “Always say ‘yes’ to your wife!”

Cherylyn, on the other hand, shares that their strength as a couple lies in their ability to constantly communicate and support each other. “We don’t control each other. We support each other’s goals, hobbies, likes and dislikes,” she says.

In this issue: Caroline Kennedy, Patty Ang, Michael Leyva, Ambassador Harald Fries, Paulina Luz Sotto, Dave Sandoval and Brooklyn Beckham

Joining Dennis and Che in this issue are fashion designers Patty Ang and Michael Leyva. Both young, driven and self-made, these survivors-turned-designers draw strength and inspiration from their respective families. Patty, the daughter of business magnate Felix Ang, is a single mother who continues to grow her fashion business as she prepares to walk down the aisle; Michael is the brother of the late fashion designer Brian Leyva, whose death inspired him to live his brother’s dream.

Also in this issue is Paulina Luz Sotto, a rising star in the art world. The granddaughter of National Artist for Visual Arts Arturo Luz talks about her passions as an artist, and how his lolo (unwittingly) inspired her to take the paintbrush.

Swedish Ambassador Harald Fries also graces the pages, as he talks about reopening the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, after an almost 10–year hiatus. An avid driver who has driven from the US to Canada for eight straight weeks, the ambassador also talks about Swedish carmaker Volvo, Filipino food and more!

Florist and events designer Dave Sandoval is also featured in the magazine, as he talks about the many events he has made more special by doing what he does best – adding flowers!

Last but definitely not the least, PeopleAsia trains the spotlight on world-class names who recently visited Manila. They are American diplomat Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of the late US President John F. Kennedy; and budding photographer Brooklyn Beckham, the son of international celebrities Victoria and David Beckham.
