No school, only fun, fun, fun! No products, only a stylized university atmosphere where booze is legal! That’s how Longchamp wants it, and that was what it got and gave during the Philippine launch of the luxury brand’s “Longchamp University” line.
It was a first perhaps in the history of local product launches. Every element of this recent collection launch was there, from the lights and sound to the colorful set made to look like a college lounge and the young, beautiful guests that hovered and moved about from one corner to another. Cocktail drinks flowed freely into the night, as food servers offered guests endless rounds of hors d’oeuvres. But for some strange reason, not a single product was in sight.
“That’s how the French principals like it,” said an insider. “Anyway, people have plenty of time to look at the products on their own later. In the meantime, it’s time for people to let their hair down and party!”
Last February 28, Longchamp orchestrated a chic, fun-filled evening at the Atrium, Enderun Events in Taguig. Friends of the design house, invited by Rustan’s and SSI, gathered to celebrate the launch of the “Longchamp University” Spring-Summer 2024 collection. Among them were influencers Rei Germar, Sofia Jahrling, and Rhea Bue-Ong, and actress Bianca de Vera.
A lively, colorful scene, featuring, among other items, spruced-up lockers, vendo machines, table football units and even a DJ’s booth immersed guests in the Parisian student atmosphere. To ensure an enjoyable university experience, a range of enthralling activities awaited attendees, who were dressed themselves mostly in what could be described as university chic, complemented by the energetic beats delivered by DJ Christi McGarry. Gracing the event was Michael Huang, Rustan Commercial Corp.’s VP for store development and expansions.
