Since its establishment in 2013, Skin Manila has remained committed to making skincare and self-care go hand in hand, helping patients glow inside and out. This is done by providing its growing clientele with high-quality skincare treatments and cosmetic surgery services catered to a wide range of aesthetic concerns and aspirations.
As we continue to inch our way back to the everyday world we once knew, keeping a presentable and glowing appearance has again become a top priority. But stress and other factors that keep us from attaining filter-proof skin know no seasons.
Apart from following a time-tested skincare routine, visiting a reputable skincare clinic is a great way to revitalize tired skin and bring back its youthful glow. Think of it as a reward for all the hard work you’ve done; a chance to unwind and indulge not only your skin, but also your soul.
Established in 2013 by Dr. Marie Jasmine Reyes, Skin Manila is an emerging aesthetic clinic franchise that offers high-quality beauty treatments and aesthetic services that don’t break the bank.
Its first branch in UP Village catered mostly to small communities, which have remained to this day among Reyes’ faithful roster of clients. Over the years, Skin Manila, through word of mouth, has amassed a loyal following. It was only a matter of time before it took off and expanded by opening multiple locations across the metro.
In celebration of its Baguio branch’s first anniversary, lifestyle journalists were treated to a rare opportunity to experience the clinic’s remarkable services that are on par with some of those offered by well-known skin and aesthetic clinic chains in Manila.
Skin Manila’s Baguio branch, which is strategically located on the lower second level of SM Baguio, offers accessibility and convenience both for locals and tourists. The 124-sq m space has a total of six treatment rooms and one consultation room.
Each branch, we were told, offers a unique theme reflecting the area or community it is located. The Baguio branch, for example, radiates a cozy, cabin-like vibe with its wood and white-walled interior that perfectly mirrors Baguio’s cool and pristine atmosphere.
But what motivates loyal patrons, including high school and college students, to keep on coming back?
For one, Skin Manila takes pride in providing relatively affordable medical-grade facials, laser stem cell programs and laser as well as photodynamic therapies, among a myriad of other skin care services.
Given a range of options, this writer chose to undergo the following treatments: Pevonia Light & Luminous Facial; Exilis Face & Neck Slimming & Contour, and Skin Manila’s Signature Elite Spa.
The relaxing journey started off with an hour-long Pevonia Light & Luminous facial treatment, which is described as “a European-style facial using Pevonia International signature strokes.” An ideal treatment for those looking for a quick rejuvenation, the Pevonia experience uses lightweight, luminescent botanical essence and organic oils that help reset the skin, particularly deep facial muscles and eyes, healing it, so to speak, from various environmental stressors.
It was then promptly followed by the Exilis Face and Neck Slimming treatment, which helps slim and contour the sides of the face, resulting in a slimmer face shape and sharper facial features. This is achieved by using a handheld wand that induces heat to go deep into the skin while simultaneously using a cooling technology.
The optimal heat applied to the skin is said to stimulate collagen production, which, in turn, helps tighten the skin, reduce wrinkles and restore youthful plumpness. And results are easily visible after the 30-minute procedure. How’s that for instant gratification!
To cap off the eventful day, we were treated to Skin Manila’s Signature Elite Spa massage, which offered us a rejuvenating and relaxing experience, thanks to our seasoned massage therapist who pampered us with a series of soothing and gliding strokes.
After undergoing Skin Manila’s premium services, making all of us feeling re-energized and fresh like carefree newborns, we also got to taste the clinic’s premium and exclusive desserts and hors d’oeuvre. The snacks are available at select branches in BGC, Alabang and Greenhills, and at Skin Manila Black, the clinic chain’s exclusive, client-only branch.
Skin Manila’s signature
Today, a decade later, Skin Manila has a total of nine branches nationwide, majority of them located in Luzon. To this day, it continues to build relationships with its patients – a relationship built on trust and confidence in the brand’s holistic approach to aesthetic care.
“With the growing interest in self-care and the value of putting one’s best face forward, it’s not surprising that many Filipinos are demanding accessible, high-quality, and science-based professional aesthetic and medical care,” said Reyes, Skin Manila’s medical director and CEO.
“We [Skin Manila] have been committed to making our aesthetic and dermatology expertise accessible to every Filipino—everything from the proven results, and expert care, down to the sensorial benefits of a relaxing session at our spa. We hope to inspire and empower more people to take charge of their skin by seeking expert advice on treatments that are right for their individual needs and skin condition,” she added.
In addition to the beauty clinic’s various treatments, Skin Manila also offers a line of dermatologically tested in-house skincare products that have been vetted by experts. Aptly called the Prescription Skin Care, the line promises to help maintain one’s skin’s overall health and beauty.
One of the best things about Skin Manila is its professional and well-trained staff who patiently answered all our inquiries while we underwent treatment. According to Steph Nuestro, Skin Manila’s general manager, this positive attitude is part of their training, adding that each staffer is meticulously selected and interviewed before getting hired.
In the future, Nuestro said that they are working tirelessly on their expansion efforts to be able to reach and inform more Filipinos about what Skin Manila has to offer. Their thrust includes plans to open up more branches in the south, particularly in Davao.
And just in time for the holidays, you can treat yourself to a well-deserved pampering with Skin Manila’s BOGO (Buy One, Get One) promo, which is available at Skin Manila’s Baguio branch until the end of December.
Skin Manila has branches at 53 Connecticut St. Greenhills, San Juan; The Grand Hamptons Tower 1, Bonifacio Global City; Molito Lifestyle Center, Alabang; SM City Baguio; Perez Blvd., Herrero, Dagupan City; SM City Urdaneta Central, Pangasinan; Lipa Town Center, Batangas; and SM Seaside City, Cebu.
