“We shot it mid-May in Korea.”
Smart Communications president Al Panlilio told PeopleAsia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez that the much-awaited Smart ad that virtually crash landed into Filipino audience’s lives was shot in mid-May in Korea. Panlilio also told Ramirez that “the shoot went very well.”
In case you’ve missed it, Smart Communications recently unveiled a nine-second teaser video of Captain Ri driving around in a sleek black car. While a lot of Crash Landing on You or CLOY fans have figured out the cryptic teaser immediately, MVP Group’s big boss Manny Pangilinan still confirmed on Twitter soon after the video went viral that Hyun Bin, the South Korean actor who plays North Korean Police Captain Ri Jung Hyeok, is Smart’s latest endorser.
Since the Korean heartthrob’s fans can’t seem to get enough of their idol, Smart followed up by releasing another teaser (longer and clearer this time) where Hyun Bin says hi to the Philippines!
“I am glad to be part of the Smart family. I am going to show you my best in my new campaign with Smart. So please keep an eye on me,” Hyun Bin says in the 19-second teaser on Smart Communication’s Facebook post. He ends his video by saying “Mahal ko kayo, Smartees!”
Hyun Bin is a Korean actor known for his portrayal of Captain Ri on the Netflix K-drama series Crash Landing On You.
