Cojuangco was the youngest son of the late industrialist and former Tarlac governor Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco. He was married late last year to Czarina Maria “China” Cojuangco.
Rep. Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco, congressman of the 1st District of Tarlac, has passed away, according to a short statement issued by his wife Czarina Maria “China” Jocson on Facebook. He was 58.
“It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that my husband, Claudia and Jaime’s father, Carlos ‘Charlie’ Cojuangco, has passed away,” Jocson wrote in a Facebook post earlier today, Tuesday.
A statement issued by his family further said that “Our dear Charlie Cojuangco has passed away the morning of 22 February 2022. We feel at peace knowing that he can rest now.
“We would like to memorialize him by celebrating his wonderful life at The Heritage Memorial Park from Wednesday to Friday, Feb 23 to 25, at 9am to midnight, and in Tarlac on Saturday Feb 26 at 10am to midnight.
“Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time especially for Charlie’s family.”
Cojuangco was the youngest son of the late industrialist and former Tarlac governor Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco. The younger Cojuangco was also married to the late actress and TV personality Rio Diaz.
Barely 16 days after his wedding to China sometime in October 2021, Cojuangco reportedly suffered an aneurysm in the brain while driving in a circuit race. He crashed his race car and was rushed to the hospital to undergo immediate surgery.
His plan to run for a third term as Tarlac representative in the May 2022 elections was dashed because of the unfortunate development.
